My two eldest boys were born in Cowra and I lived 7 years in nearby Canowindra - have quite a few friends in Cowra, including teachers.

I wonder if DOCS knew about this one???

Cowra and PArkes (where the mother is a cop) are both small towns and I have a lot of friends in both.  for once the media has been quite circumspect in reporting this story.

That must make you famous, a true supporter.

I don't quite understand why people go "ooh I live near there" as if they are somehow connected to a news event.

It's like those ppl and this is an actual conversation I had recently

"How's all these people jumping on the Gordon Ramsays bandwagon?"
me: "Ah yeah? so, he is mildly entertaining"
Megan: "Yeah but I was a fan of his before anyone else, I liked him first"
Me: "umm so? does that mean you have exclusive rights to being his fan, is there only a limited amount of people and time frame where you can become his fan, are you somehow more of a fan than every other person who likes him. What does it actually matter that you liked him first?"
Megan: "You are such a grumpy prick"
Me: "No it just makes no sense to me, oh number 1 Gordon Ramsay fan"
