Josh Aloiai and Curtis Sironen drop out of the team named on Tuesday. The Rd 25 match kicks-off at Queensland Country Bank Stadium, Townsville, at 5.30pm.

Jeez I love sausage rolls. I must eat a lot of them because at the start of the year there was not a chance in hell I saw this coming for us to even remotely be in contention for a top 4 or even top 8 spot. I saw us as 10 to 12 team. I am very happy to be wrong and that humble pie is tasting very good (with sauce).

Pretty sure we will take care of business today, (just don’t want any injuries or incidents that could end on report) I’d like to see us respect the ball and be patient in the first half, if points come that’s great if not that’s ok, we just need to finish the game off strongly, not to dissimilar to Penrith‘s game last night.

Interesting to see if we are over focused on defence today or if we chance our hand early and wide.

I like the look of this 17. To my thinking, Walker and Lawton are our best options at #14 and #15 but the other two spots are still open. Keppie and Sipley get their chance this time.
Aloiai’s penalty and 10 minute sin bin cost us last week, although unlike Keppie’s similar instance against Newcastle, it didn’t ultimately, result in a loss but it could have. Sironen can still offer plenty. He may not have the same impact of the other 3 but his experience and professionalism mean he’s unlikely to make dumb errors either.
Come on boys, 1 game at a time. Just get the win, let’s go

Who else is having sausage rolls this afternoon? Homemade sausage rolls with a mango chutney is on the menu today. Its being a served with a large piece of humble pie for my doubting that we would make the finals, after the first four rounds. What an achievement by Des and the guys. Go Manly

Thought last week we looked a bit tired compared to the Dogs in many patches. I think the heat played a factor and it's gonna be around 24-25c at game time today. So I think we really need to respect the ball and maintain a good completion rate. Cheap turnovers and too many 6 agains against us could cause us some issues. Hopefully we play a bit smarter today. Semi final type football required today fellas! Go Manly

Manly should be motivated enough today and should be O K if they can put two tidy halfs together with hopefully no slow start . Just to have their defence in order, get the completion rates up again , astute kicking game and the timing and fluency in attack should be to the fore again . Sure that the players know that they have to improve some areas after last weeks indifferent effort , time to show again that they are a worthy top four side .

I'm sure Des is drilling the boys about completions, defence, ball control and composure. That's what we need next week, so let's start practicing it today. I'd rather see a tight game with 85% plus completions, less than 20 missed tackles and measured choices in attack than some wild 50-32 end to end giggle festival
