Cowboys are or seem to be in a much better place right now then the Sea Eagles so can only hope that whatever mindset and awareness factor that enabled them to get the better of the Panthers recently can reemerge .
Not sure of the merit of starting with Bully up front and Tavega at 9 and the makeup of the bench but guess can only again hope on the positive side that it can work out and particularly with the bench rotation
Cows halfs are going to be a real threat and certainly need Brooksey and obviously D C E to perform at their best level accordingly . Must still be some level of professionalism and club and team commitment in his make up; [ D C E ] Seemed to regularly find a higher performance level somehow at S O O level so surely within his capacity at club level again
Was also hoping and half expecting that Turbo could make a critical difference against the Sharks but to no avail and if similar this week , going to lessen their prospects again .

Manly will win this.
The teams are reasonably similar (Cows have actually conceded more points) and the big difference is...Manly is more desperate.
Only thing that can stop us is the officiating, we need to be pretty smart about that.

Wish i could share your optimism but after a poor first month [ and don"t watch their games ]but Cows have apparently been quite consistent since then .
Manly , all over the place form and consistency wise since season 's start
Really do not think they can get the win if D C E and Turbo can not step up but guess that the effort has at least been there for the majority of the side to date so that is a plus and completion rates right up there as well on their better days

Agree, and I'm expecting them to step up as it's in their best interests to, particularly with origin teams being named after this round. They've both publicly said they still want to play origin so you'd think they'll want to put in a much better performance than their last game. (Not that I agree for different reasons with them still playing origin at all).

In Turbo's case he'll want to play well to prove his fitness, which will be interesting.

With Hunt’s injury,DCE is a definite Origin starter,so I wouldn’t be backing him to bust a nut this week, much like the past many.TomT on the other hand,is fighting for his spot,so I expect a big performance from him,if he’s not carrying yet another injury

QLD will not drop their captain, no matter how bad he is playing at the moment.
If he wasn't going to be picked, Slater would have already told him (out of respect) so he could tell all that he has retired from Origin football.

6. Munster
7. Deardon

My two cents worth, as a Qlder, and if we want to win.

Out pack and bench are woeful
Paseka and Aloia , although not great are at least competitive

We’ll get slaughtered down the middle
DCE has given up
Tommy is hurting
Overall the incredibly weak forward pack and DCE issue around morale is insurmountable in my opinion

I expect a shellacking to be honest
To think they will get up for this ignores the reality of Sunday

DCE will phone it in but he will be picked for QLD - that is a certainty and he knows it too

Well yeah, that's always possible too. Just a bit of sea eagle intuition tells me there's plenty of shocks still to come in this comp.
Hey maybe the cows will get shafted by the ref? Someone has to!

That's a bleak assessment Susan, people on here were writing us off for the Penrith game also, and look what happened. The bigger Sharks forwards steamrolled us, not sure the Cowboys will do the same.

I get that but to me the Sharks game wreaked of the straw that broke the camels back re team morale. The difference now is DCE has definitely checked out. You could see it in the press conference and the coach looks like he has no answers

I actually thought we would beat Penrith too
We had absolutely everything going for us Sunday - great crowd , long preparation , desperate - and delivered a flat who cares performance

I think Sunday was a watershed moment and would not be surprised to see DCE out of the side by years end for any number of reasons

We won’t get the break from the refs like round 1 and the cowboys are playing the second phase up tempo football that kills us and are great at those kicks for Nannai and co , an area we are lamentably bad in

The new young half is going to be a star and Lsybutt will be dangerous coming back too … can really play

Considering the fact they are missing Cotter and Taumololo, and we are missing Paseka and Aloisi, this game will definitely be a litmus test on what we can expect for the remainder of the season. If we get lapped in the middle and the Cows put on a big score it might be the beginning of the end for Siebold.

You've made a lot of valid points, we really need our big 3 to aim up, as in Turbo, DCE and Ola, otherwise it could be another Sharks type loss again.
