Consistency

One try rarely wins you a game. .

To consolidate what matters it's getting that kick away at the end of that next set.

Great start to 2025.

But can this 2025 team consolidate?

They have had the ability to be flat track bullies for years. But can they back it up, all the way other on the other side of the ditch?

Might need to be a little more resilient in defence. Can we dominate that middle just that little bit more when not on our home turf. Can we improve upon our line speed and be that tad bit better in executing.

Thats our next test.

As always it's opportunity that awaits.

No doubt the team is building under seibs
Our mental ceiling and application still worry me

Tricks shots on first tackle in round 1 . Nice to watch but hints our maturity may still be below those that play top finals on a regular basis

Seibs has us pumping early season and with lots of early season games at brookie we may be looking good mid season

But if tom goes down…….
When tom goes to origin and when dce comes back from origin . If its anything like last season there are still many questions

Lehi can replace tom as fullback but no one replaces tom in the team.

That's the key takeaway for me from last night.

You rarely see Cleary, Hughes or Munster throwing possession away on tackle 1 chasing more points while already up 24 nil.

They just get in the grind and keep on doing what got them to 24 nil in the first place.

It's hard to be too critical after such a victory, but we are chasing Penrith and Melbourne to win a comp, somehow we need a U-turn in mentality around how we play, especially from in front.

I can’t remember the last time Manly put 2 awesome halves of footy together like that…

Was it perfect? Of course not, no game is (although 40-0 GF win goes close)…

The passion, the intensity, the attacking structures and defensive resolve (that we all bang-on about wanting to see), it was ALL there! There was no turning off, the only time the cows got in the game was when we pulled players and they were able to take advantage of players out-of-position (Ben was good but not enough speed for a centre)…

Yes we want consistency as that leads to competing for premierships but GODDAM last night was some impressive football from Manly…

The same stuff was evident in our 21 finals campaign putting saab into touch which to me shows a lack of real growth at the pointy end

But our base is steadily improving

Konsistency is King for sure
We have a good record against the Warriors away and two wins in a row is a good start
The raiders blew them off the park. I can see us putting another big score on them

The trick shot was fine, it was Saab who fluffed it; poor pass that wasn’t on. If you can put someone into space, why wouldn’t you? You’re not going to avoid the opportunity because it’s the first tackle. It’s just typical Saab.
