Funny as , I’ve kept the photo that appears above and I “ liked” ( spew vomit ) the Maroons Facebook page and after they announced him as Captain I posted it up saying “ how’s this going for you now Queensland “.

You won’t be surprised that they blocked me from the page pretty quickly ( and no doubt removed the photo).

However I’m on a mission to post it up everywhere I can on Queensland pages ( just to remind them what ****ing wankers they were at the time).

I'm going to go zen and just take it as some gc bulletin knuckle head was just trying to get readership up and by becoming the drama filled gossip mag they basically are...they printed that disrespectful picture. So they printed it (toss-pots), tallis was all over it as he was butt hurt as he was involved with the titans at the time (bigger toss-pot), titan fans would be grumpy about the whole thing and some other two-heads as well...

but.... it was just a disgruntled few and qld has no problem with him and he's now captain, like some other pretty decent players like wally lewis.

Actually, remember when Sydney chanted wally's a wanker during and Australia test against ...someone?

Qld didn't like that, but the GC bulletin was happy to do that pic of daly "one of their own". Weird huh!

I used to think along those lines mate, but I think he certainly does now. I recall prior to the Dragons game this year with plenty of troops out, he had all the boys together in the dressing sheds addressing them in a way I hadn’t seen before, looking to inspire those around him - also picked up by the commentators at the time.

I will be intrigued to see him in the lead up to this game and specifically pre game next Wednesday night.

Still not convinced long term he is the right kind of leader.

He leads by example, in preparation and in the on-field one-per-centers like kick-chase. Has taken a while, but he's grown into the role. Won't surprise me at all if he does a great job leading Queensland.

Just listening to him following the announcement and I must say Daly is an absolute credit to himself, family and club.

I’m proudly a New South Welshman, but I won’t be disappointed if he led his state to a win next week.

I am a NSW fan and I am feeling exactly the same way, I can't stand Fittler and hate how Jake T is in considered by some in the clicky NSW camp to be lucky to get in as lock because they go on about guys like Radley. Jake was off the bench last year he should have been the first one picked.

To be honest there is such a huge upside to DCE winning an origin as captain, I honestly believe it would see DCE take his game to the next level and that would be massive for us attracting players to the club guys wanting to play with the QLD captain, it could mess him up if they lose and QLD turns on him. The decision to sign him to a 10 year deal is looking to be a very astute one at this stage although i don't think even they could have realised it at the time.
