Confirmed...Myles Gonski!

Apart from about 4 or 5 stand-out games over the last 18 months his contributions and form was below average at best.

So he leaves us without really giving us his best. He still had around 12 games to redeem himself with us but he wimps out and thinks that he will be the talk of the town in Melbourne.

His exit will not impact Manly in any negative ways. I hope the Manly boys smash him when we play the Storm later this year!

I think his release is more about whats in the cupboard than mate himself.

Perret could be massive and needed some assurances that he had a fit. Bin myles. Perret given half a season in top grade and a bumped up contract. Win win for everyone.

Love or hate the guy Fulton has amassed a pretty awesome ( potential ) forward pack which could terrorise for years to come.

KAPOW API AFB
SIRRO ?????( Just missing 1 more)
JAKE

PERRET, LUSSICK, HASTINGS, SIPLEY, winterstein.

Add a backline of turbo, uate, walker, Kelly, taufa, DCE, (hastings or possibly tom wright or green)

Looking good Mr Fulton.

Geez guys

We are farewelling a very high quality, successful player, based on his desire to be in Melbourne closer to his wife. Why all the animosity????

Thanks Plod - because of you, we kept cherry Evans, AND annoyed lots of Titan fans. You didn't set the world on fire here - but you had your reasons. You were honest, respectful, and tried your best.

Thanks for the effort, sorry it didn't work out, and best of luck in the future.

Do people actually realise there are 2 sides of the ball ? All the negative comments about him are all about ball in hand

Defensively, he did tighten the middle up every time he was on the park and stopped points leaking

I can't stand the bloke and never have, but he has been pretty decent defensively this season

We are paying 70% of his contract. So was obviously not wanted.
makes no sense. I suspect we may be still paying for him this year but would not make sense to paying for him at all next year.
1. It is in his interest to be in Melbourne (wife)
2. Gee i know he has seen better days but still very well respected.
3. I suspect he will be on less coin next year however he will be wearing the difference. ( not MWSE)

On Storm TV today, he said there were two main driver's for his request to want a release:

01. He wants more minutes. Obviously he feels he deserves to be on the park more. Shows Barrett has the coconuts to play players on form than contract. Good signs.

02. This is the worrying part. He said he just wanted to enjoy his footy again. I hope that reasoning is out of respect of point one, and not pointing towards a cultural problem.

However Barrett is mixing his minutes, it's working. I appreciate that may put off a player like Myles who probably feels a little disgruntled by low minutes.

But this is a team sport. And this team is winning consistently. Can't fault Barrett on that.

If you look at his season after the fact. He started the season like he had been given some harsh advice and he sooked it. By about round 3 it looked like he realised his fate and was playing for a new contract. Recently as it became obvious he was going elsewhere his form dwindled. Not terrible but it lacked a bit of grunt. Maybe im harsh

Look i think he still had plenty to offer. His defence can be ruthless at times, but at times is not his position in the team. Im a little concerned about the short term replacement but long term i think we will have him covered, and some

On his signing with Storm Myles said, “I’m ecstatic to be able to join Melbourne Storm for the remainder of the season. When an opportunity presented itself to link up with the Storm, it was something I felt would really benefit my football and playing strengths.

“I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into training and improving, meeting my new and returning to the field as soon as possible.”

Currently sidelined with an elbow injury sustained in the first Origin game, Myles will start at the Club immediately and commence training.

You keyboard heroes aren't worthy enough to even shine his boots . He is gone I wish him and is family all the best.

Irrelevant point. Nobody is comparing an international athlete to themselves.
It's taken that he's better than us. He'd want to be, he get's paid more than the vast majority of us ever will, because he claims to be worth it. We don't claim to be worth it.

When compared to other players of his level, he's not been up to standard.
What does that have to do with the boot shining ability of anyone on here?
