Combined mid-90's / 2006 team

Just to lighten up the mood before we are thrown into despair by the news of Dessie's weekend team selection (unchanged no doubt) this arvo, name your combined mid-90's / 2006 team. Mine is:
1. Ridge (Stewart not far behind)
2. Hoppa
3. Innes
4. Tezza (Bell really close here, but Tezza was Aust. Rep back then)
5. D Moore
6. Cliffy
7. Ox (prob more talent than Tooves, but not a bigger heart - subject to argument)
8. Spud
9. Serdaris
10. Cement (sorry Kite)
11. Beaver
12. Kosef (not yet Choc)
13. BK (Garts close behind, pusk Kosef to 2nd row)
Res - Tooves, I Roberts, Choc, Gartner
18th man - Dessie/Kite
Any thoughts? This team would be unbeatable against any other combo I reckon.

What you have basically said is right. Probably only one or two of the current team would make that side!!! (Beaver isn't quite the player he was either!) BK is the only stand out to make that team.

Is it any wonder we don't do as well in the comp as then??? Our playing roster just isn't as good as then - which is why we will tend to flounder around 8th to 10th spot for the season and play simple game plans - we just don't have the cattle for the more complex styles. Some people want to keep blaming the coach but when you compare the 96 side to the 05 side even the reserves back them would be walk ups for us. Tierney, Cunningham, Hancock etc - how we love to have players of that calibre in our team!

The only players that would have a chance from this team IMO are

Ben Kennedy & Ox

Though Ox would get in Lyons way and I dont know if I could split up the unstoppable trio. I would actully probably put Kennedy on the bench

You listen to Bozo and much of his work was in defence. The attack was a very ad-lib style.

Bozo was one of the best, though (*****sacrilege alert*****) some claim he was flawed in that he had the teams to win in 83, 95, 97 and didn't deliver!!!!!
