Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

Pretty normal for questions to be asked after a team loses by nearly 40… sometimes the coach of said team can come under the firing line too. I’m not even completely anti Seibold but I can guarantee you we’re never winning **** with him either
All good man - i replied to the wrong person.

Here they come... the ASC w#nkfest
I have been reading these forums for many years, and the pro Seibold gang come out firing in force after each win baiting the other mob who want him gone. It's like an unending circular argument where one side beats their chest for a week before the other comes out in force the next. Rolling with the punches is probably the best approach. You will either be back next week throwing barbs at the ASS boys or reading more sack Seibold posts.

You are right and that's all a bit of fun on myside at least. I

TBH there are no pro-Seibold people on here from what I've seen -just those that try and attribute" the blame" to the coach and the players in the appropriate manner.

I doubt there’s one single pro Seibold member on here , but what there is , is a group that attributes bad games to the complete set up of, the football department ( wrong choices , wrong plans ) & the players not performing as they should.

Whereas the ASC / ASS attribute EVERYTHING to the coach.

That’s the point that I argue on , and will continue to do so.

Because I know , should the current coach get the arse , that it won’t be long until the new coach ( whoever they be) will have their own sacking acronyms as well because our issues are far wider that just attributing everything to the coach.

I think from an outsider looking in there are several on the ASS side that see poor recruitment etc and attribute such areas where we currently suck as part of the coaching teams responsibilty. There are also some who appear to rant unendingly while spewing out anti Seibold rants like men possessed. Those on the other side seemingly blame everything on the owners, appearing to give Seibold a free pass by implying that a coach can't make a difference at our club. They too seem incapable of bending their view to a more balanced outlook.

Many of the ASS boys seem to be fond of Hasler and revere his achievements. They call our current coach Seidud etc.

Many on the other side appear to be carrying ingrained resentment and unforgiveness that dates back to 2011. They call our past coach Ha$ler etc.

From the outside it appears pretty obvious. It's amusing reading the back and forth. Well, to me at least.

I'm not a Seibold hater but I've come to the conclusion this club isn't going to get ahead with him as the coach. He's ok and we win sometimes and make the 8 usually but we're a middle rank team not going to challenge for the premiership. Not saying sack him now but would like if the club are looking for a replacement now, Wayne's not doing too good at south and may get his first spoon, might want a change of venue, would be better than Seibold.

Yes I agree it is that.

I believe it’s the total system , owners who aren’t prepared to put big money in, a football department run on the NRL grant and not a cent more, recruiting that’s been less than smart, limited juniors , very average reserve grade set up, and players ( not all ) who don’t deliver to the $$& they are paid.

Oh and yes the coach plays a part too , but he’s not the only reason.

I love it when the ASC call me “ pro Seibold “, I’m actually not , but I’m neither anti as well rather “ ambivalent “ as with the set up / system we have it wouldn’t matter who the coach was the issues would remain the same.

As much as I am pis$ed off about Seibold playing Haumole today knowing that there was a 90% chance he'd get re-injured ... again I have to ask myself what his sacking right now would achieve and if he was booted, who exactly could step in at a moments notice and do a better job??

Its not like there are hot shot prospective first grade coaches out there. All the best ones of recent years have been snapped up by other clubs. And its not like there is an experienced out of work coach with recent NRL experience out there who could do it either. Yes there is Demetriou, but again I point to his record with a couple of fairly talented Souths squads that he did nothing with.

I just don't know that sacking Seibold 5 weeks before seasons end would do any good.

Some might argue that another coach would recruit better than what we have done these past three seasons, and in doing so bring some consistency. That would then give the coach more power. But the other area where we suck is in third party deals. Is there no one on the Northern Beaches capable of putting together some decent third party deals? That is the area that sorts the contenders out from the pretenders. And presently I'd have us right down the bottom of the competition in this regard.

Yes I missed that bit above.

Yes one of the “ red hot “ assistant coaches “might” jag a decent signing from the club he comes from, but in reality as others have pointed out , sack Seibold and who’s next up ??

It’s the one thing the ASC can’t ( or don’t want to
) answer

Yeah I remember Barret jagged Louis 'poo' Brown when he came over as a hot signing, but he did at least bring Api too I guess.

Seibold isn’t the answer. The team’s going nowhere, there’s no identity, and players simply aren’t developing. The longer he stays, the more damage gets done, he needs to go.

But it runs deeper than just Siebold, obviously. His manager has had far too much influence at this club, and it feels like Manly is being exploited for personal agendas rather than built for long-term success.

Then there’s the ownership. When leadership at the top lacks vision, ambition, and the right people around them, nothing works. The coaching instability, poor recruitment, culture issues they all trace back to the top.

We don’t even get third-party deals right as has been mentioned. Other clubs build strong networks and sponsorship pathways to support their players, we don't, and it shows.

Until we clean house, starting with Seibold, cutting out external influences, and fixing the leadership at the top, we’ll stay stuck in mediocrity.
