Clubs agree to $9.4M Salary Cap

I'm shocked - shocked I tells ya! - that an NRL administration led by "Honest" Todd Greenberg could come up with a resolution to the salary cap problem - a problem that was actually created by greedy, cheating sh#tbag clubs who couldn't bring themselves to budget within a previously-agreed figure - that benefits said greedy, cheating sh#tbag clubs (and the Bulldogs in particular) and disadvantages everyone else. Nobody could have seen that coming.

If Dogs budgeted for 10 Million and it's 9.4, they haven't got to shed many have they??

The whole " this one , that one and this one as well" on the market may well be almost total BS.

Probably 1 player at worst.

Trouble is they have to replace any player they remove and that replacement will be deemed at the minimum (might be $130K).

Plus they will not be able to completely shed a Graham/Morris/Eastwood.

eg. Eastwood is on $700k next season, say Manly say they will take him for $300K the Dogs will still be up for $400K.

Its at least 2 players because of their back ended contracts.

They have to pay part of anyones salary probably if they have a fire sale.. So maybe 2 or 3

I'd imagine there will still be a fair amount of trimming of players at certain clubs, and with a figure finally agreed upon moves will now be made. Should be interesting to see who Bozo jags for next season.

Excellent news! So they'll be battling out for the Spoon next year to mark Desmond's crowning achievement before getting the arse.
Reports today that Dogs are 1.1m over next year's Cap.😎

It's all those backended deals that Dez is so fond of.😡

Dez will walk IMO, as the math is too hard now 😵

I don't suppose they thought while everyone was around the dinner table that they would set the following seasons salary cap in place at the same time?

You know, so we dont end up back in the same situation this time next year...

I think they agreed on a fixed rate increase based on the NRL Revenue.

Till it's signed of with the RLPA today, the final figures are still not in black and white.

I had a dream about Manly v Dogs last night...the game was played in a supermarket for some reason but was legit, we won by a record margin. At the end of the match a supermarket girl cooked up a massive feed for players and fans at which point Kkem informed everybody that he wanted to come to Manly next season. Feckin nicotine patches!
