I believe Croker should have spent a few weeks in the cup to regain his confidence before coming straight in. Saab has been inconsistent; his good moments are excellent, but his bad ones are quite frustrating. Waddell could also benefit from an extended run in the cup.

Croker was woeful on the weekend and is not even doing the stuff he used to be good at anymore. He is done. Saab is just not what we need, he is just not good at enough things and is inconsistent at the things he is good at.

Probably.
Crokes missed preseason and is behind where we need him to be. Ditto Sipley, at his best we can really use him as we've lost our first choice props for the year, it seems.
Waddell getting a practice run at second row by the looks of it, shows (sadly) not much faith in our reserve graders.
Aside from this I reckon the selections do send a general message to the regular first graders, namely first grade spots are not guaranteed.

Unfortunately the players who we really need in better form are DCE Turbo and Jurbo and for them it may simply be they're trying their best but they aint what they used to be...

Some interesting takes on that N S W lineup
Patolo ahead of James and Sykes in the pecking order so may be coming on reasonably well .
Schoupp still being persevered with on an edge , . In his i st grade appearance last season as a centre , showed that he can defend a bit and not a bad direct runner
No idea how he has generally gone this season but with the i st grade side"s edge stocks a bit slim now , maybe a player to take note of or his current form
Sabb probably does need a bit of a confidence boost and showing some better form .
No idea also how Chee Kam is going but still must have reasonable toe to be playing as a centre and Kio is an interesting one ,
Can recall him playing in the 2 nd row after going elsewhere[ and maybe also on his Manly return last season or so ] Then also after being a centre in the Manly juniors and now back in the centres again but doubt if he can be in contention for i st grade
Hope that Walsh can only get better game by game going forward
