SEA EAGLES

Predicted Round 1 team
: 1. Tom Trbojevic 2. Jason Saab 3. Tolutau Koula 4. Reuben Garrick 5. Tommy Talau 6. Luke Brooks 7. Daly Cherry-Evans 8. Taniela Paseka 9. Lachlan Croker 10. Josh Aloiai 11. Haumole Olakau’atu 12. Ben Trbojevic 13. Jake Trbojevic 14. Jake Simpkin 15. Nathan Brown 16. Siosiua Taukeiaho 17. Jazz Tevaga

Analysis: Tom Trbojevic is a lock at fullback when he returns from a shoulder injury in the trials, with Jason Saab back from an ankle injury on the wing and accompanied by Tommy Talau, who just edges out Lehi Hopoate. Toulutau Koula and Reuben Garrick will get first crack in the centres, but Hopoate will also be keeping them honest, while Luke Brooks and Daly Cherry-Evans are certain starters in the halves. Taniela Paseka and Josh Aloiaiwill be the starting front row with Lachlan Croker at hooker. Haumole Olakau’atu will be joined by Ben Trbojevic in the second row full-time after Karl Lawton’s departure to the Cowboys, while Jake Trbojevic will be the lock.Jake Simpkin will edge Gordon Chan Kum Tong for first crack at the utility role, but boom half Joey Walsh could also get a chance at some stage. Nathan Brown and recruits Jazz Tevaga and Siosiua Taukeiaho round out the bench.

No Hoppa, no way.

One article just repeating an earlier one. I wouldn't be getting worried Still a month before trials. I doubt even the coach has his best 17 set yet this year.
Oh no worry, these articles are absolutely meaningless.

As you say, a whole heap of pre season and trials to go.

It is moreso just a humorous insight into the quaity of sports journalism these days.

Really ? - Its time to get Jake out of lock and make hime one of the props, rotating with Bully and rotate Tent and Taukeaho, Simkins in for Froggy and Hoppa number 14 Navale into lock with the others fighting hard for top 17 positions

Lolz, again....Bully will be there
Bull is an interesting player but Manly has bolstered its forward depth a bit, so at age 25 Bully needs to take it up another notch if he's to be sure of a bench spot.
Can anyone remember him ever making a dominant tackle? (He'll probably need more aggression even to succeed in the world of high finance!)
I realise he adds impact with his leg speed, but even Beaver used to occasionally buckle attackers with a perfectly timed legal hit. Time to ditch the polite demeanour Mr Bull and get a bit raging I think!

For mine he is locked in to the bench.

He may not whack but his tackle efficiency is very good and he leg speed, particularly with those angled runs in behind the ruck offers something different from our other forwards.

I'd pick him on the bench too, but for me he's a bit Paseka-like - goes well but somehow feel he could do better.
 fast play-the-ball
 cannot pass the ball
🙂

If you could take Browns aggression & put it into Bullemor you’d have an origin quality player right there. Just not sure he has that ‘dog’ in him, hopefully proves me wrong this season

Nice but sadly reminds me of seeing the Swans run the hills endlessly in Centennial Park. It was truly astonishing speed and endurance.
Different game I know.
How can you do all that running up hills with KFC shoved in your face on the ar$e in front of you….modern day mental torture that!

Some of Bully 's support play and finishing was pretty much in the game breaking category last season as well and that can not be underestimated .
Of course need more then that to hold down a i st grade spot and showed last season also some helpful or definite improvement and consistency .
Continues to be a bit of a mystery why he has not recommitted yet for an extended time at Manly but no doubt some valid reasons for this .
And no apparent indication of other clubs making overtures but who really knows the actual circumstances and with his future intentions

Another interesting training video I spotted on Linkedin - haven’t seen it elsewhere on Manly socials

Thank you posting feathered friend @The Wheel
