When isn't he? Legend#jakeispunching
Yep, and in that middle 40 minutes we'll leak 30 points. He's the only one that can tackle consistentlyI would play Jake for the first 20 minutes and the final 20 minutes of each game in 2025. We will get the best out of him this way.
We will leak that anyway with all the penalties & 6 agains Jake gives away.Yep, and in that middle 40 minutes we'll leak 30 points. He's the only one that can tackle consistently
8 penalties in 2024 (85 players conceded more) and 19 ruck infringements (admittedly league high). We will leak that anyway with all the penalties & 6 agains Jake gives away.
He’s obviously coached to do it as well. It’s usually when our pack is under the pump and back pedalling.8 penalties in 2024 (85 players conceded more) and 19 ruck infringements (admittedly league high).
So just over one penalty or RI per game.
Exactly, not all ruck infringements are created equal. He’s obviously coached to do it as well. It’s usually when our pack is under the pump and back pedalling.
You're making excuses mate. 27 combined infringements (giving a fresh 6 again) or outright penalty, for one player, in 24 games isn't acceptable. Unfortunately, Jake can't magically speed up, so his clearing of the ruck is probably the best he can do, with the attributes he has. Lots of plus sized players tend to play that way. It's just physics. We now have quite a few of them (Tevaga, Taukeiaho, Sipley, Jake, Brown etc etc)Exactly, not all ruck infringements are created equal.
An infringement on the 1st or 2nd when we are under the pump which allows us to reset our line and press forward can be quite valuable.
I know a few people who have been in NRL systems and can tell you for a fact that players are coached to concede a 6 again in the right situation. You're making excuses mate. 27 combined infringements (giving a fresh 6 again) or outright penalty, for one player, in 24 games isn't acceptable. One thing I notice
Very interesting.I remember partway through one of the COVID seasons & abuse of the 6 agains by teams under the pump came under the NRL’s scrutiny & they implemented the 3 strikes & send off rule.
The very next game (which I think was Magic round), Jake didn’t concede a single ruck infringement or 6 again, so he knows what he’s doing & is perfectly capable of not conceding them.
One thing I notice
In the video Sipley looks to make a tackle and his wearing an grey shirt (maybe the warm up jersey) View attachment 28994
