I agree he could be a great 14He's our Daine Laurie.
But he could be our Fletcher Sharpe if we give hime a run in the halves. Clayton has the footy skills to become a modern utility
edit for a dad joke: I hope we can 'mould Clay' into a bench utility
G'day all, I'd have him in the team over Saab every day of the week. The blokes a natural footballer.I really like Clayton , not a superstar but a very dependable backup .
Agree. But first I would like to see how he goes at 5/8. Brooks is OK but has not done sufficient over the past two seasons to make him an automatic selection, although Boldy disagrees. Brooks is resilient and has not missed a match; just like DCE, who should be "rested" to give us a glimpse into our future.Maybe a bit on the unlikely side still but continue to think that Talau could have the attributes to be moulded into a competitive 13
Being a bit injury prone for a good part of this season probably does not help [ seems to be mainly hammy related for some reason ] but again when his style of play is taken into account , good on his feet and line breaking ability including in traffic , aggressive defender when he wishes , sure that he could develop a sufficient mid field passing - link role
just that the outside back opportunities may continue to be a bit limited for him and still no really ideal option at 13 with the current array of squad members who have appeared there in recent seasons
Talau is nothing if not versatile but just recall that brief stint he had as a 6 against the Bunnies last season when D C E and Brooks were not availableAgree. Bring DCE back for the last home match, in a wheelchair, so he can complete a lap of 'honour'.
Such a pity he has tarnished his legacy.
Yes I've notice and it's very disappointing, it's either he's not that fast or injured. It looked like he's jogging at 3rd gear since he's been with us, never at full pelt. Sometime I think that's all his got, because many times with the line open we all think it's all-over he always get run down easily.Notice that Saab has apparently been down a bit this season on his previous top speed rating
No doubt , mainly injury factors responsible and did stride out well in that recent corner touchdown against the Dogs
Then last week , maybe with a bit more of his normal speed edge , could have pulled clear of Jed Stuart on the wing and really help Manly "s cause
Hope that he can be managed well in the off season and get back regularly to his prior quickest player rating
Agree with this. Does not move the dial for 2026 but a good, dependable back-up.I really like Clayton , not a superstar but a very dependable backup .

He [ Sabb ] has had stanzas where he has been super quick but since that early season L A Souths match last year , has had a very disruptive run with injuries which has at times definitely impeded his pace assetYes I've notice and it's very disappointing, it's either he's not that fast or injured. If he's injured he shouldn't b in the team, speed and catching bombs is what he's there for and he can't do both. He should take some time out and get better at both because that's all his got going for him It's costing us a lot of try. When I ever I saw Faulalo played, he's always busy running around like a headless chook remind me of Lehi. Both of them will b perfect if they put an extra 5-10kg of muscle on them, don't get me wrong I'm a Saab fan also.
Lets hope Fogarty can unlock his potential, D$E has done the whole right side no favours mainly in defence but also this season especially, in attack. He [ Sabb ] has had stanzas where he has been super quick but since that early season L A Souths match last year , has had a very disruptive run with injuries which has at times definitely impeded his pace asset
Not too sure whether the problem is with D C E not being able to provide more suitable opportunities with tryline pin point bombs for a while now but has seemed noticeable the drop off in utilizing better Saab "s height and jumping advantage .
No reason why he can not be that far of for instance , Coates ability and effectiveness or strike rate with well placed tryline bombs
