Well done to Faulalo for his persistence staying in the game and doing it the hard way, first time named in the starting 13 and hopefully he makes a huge impression..
From the highlights reel against the Dogs in NSW cup Paulo looked ordinary, he threw a pass to nobody that let the Dogs in for the first try and his defence at the back was poor, got burned for speed on another try.I have to say, I am surprised he got the nod over Paulo. I think Faulalo lacks the physicality to be a first grade footballer. He was absolutely belted against the Chooks. Paulo is pretty dopey and hit and miss but I thought his best game of the year was the 14-0 loss to the Bunnies and he hasn't been sighted since.
Probably has as much physicality as young Hopoate - and he seems to survive OK. If he has sufficient speed he should do OK - as he seems to be a good footballer..I have to say, I am surprised he got the nod over Paulo. Physicality and weight are two different concepts. Hoppa makes ton of post contact metres, is rarely dominated, and makes effective tackles, indicating to me that he is physically capable. Faulalo might in fact even weigh more than Hoppa but I’ve seen him get ragdolled, picked up, driven back and buried into the ground, more than once, unfortunately.Probably has as much physicality as young Hopoate - and he seems to survive OK. We really have got some great backs depth now, Tommy Talau had a great game also. What a great game from him last night and unlucky not to get more tries.
Not many have spoken too much about those freakish 'keep the ball in play" moves he pulled off TWICE in one game that kept the moementum going. It reminded me of those boundary fielders in the BBL.
I'm not sure why he got more ball from Garrick than Saab usually gets but it may have to do with superior positioning or timing on his part. I rate him higher than Saab on this and a few other attributes besides the flashy leaping and speed of course.
We are sweet with him Lehi and Koula in our backline stocks.
Is that you Clayton?Think it's time this guy had his own thread. Has scored 27 tries in 22 games for BWSE.
24 line breaks and 65 tackle breaks. Average running meters 133m per game and 40.4 fantasy points per game.
Scored in every game except 1. This guy could be the next big thing. Plays fullback, center, wing. Hope this guy goes into top 30 next year.
Like I have said in a previous post, I hope Saab doesnt think he has a mortgage on this spot, because he hasntWe really have got some great backs depth now, Tommy Talau had a great game also.
