As an out and out Api lover you are correct. It was just the timing (and Fainu ) fuuckup that has cost us. I watch Api at the Panthers, and he is killing it. It’s just horrible to think how we’d be if Fainu didn’t fuuck up.

API was the best, I cant believe that they let him go on the promise of Fainu
he also had the shoulder injury when they did

I have been saying all year that DCE is not an organising half and needs to play 6. We need an organising 7 coz our 1.3M dollar man is not one.

1.3M dollar players get their money coz they don't need talent to work with...they ARE the talent.

Garrick at fullback was a poor selection. Elliott and Funa were poor in defence and our halves were awful. Changes are needed otherwise we will lose more games than we win.

Metcalfe may have defensive issues but if they aren’t willing to risk Albert it’s about time he got a shot at fullback to give us a bit of speed/ X factor.Last year Elliott was ok because Fainu was creating havoc in the middle and we had other attacking options. We now have nothing coming out of the nine and pedestrian outside backs. Simply will not score points with that 1 to 5 and no flair in the middle.

Today we fell down in defensive application. Maybe our record of beating the Sharks got the better of our blokes.
Yes some changes won't hurt but we need to go out with a fierce underdog determination, for starters.
Jetski is still working back to fitness, and Parker didn't look his usual steely self (hardly a shock after last week).
Has Waddell recovered? If so bring him back, and give Boyle another go.
Croker will get another shot at 5/8.
Our problem today was 90% mental. But if the same thing happens next week I'll get worried!

Just way to slow out wide which flair in the middle ( api/ fainu) managed to hide with Tommy out last year.Not this year.Our back five today would be easily the slowest in the comp despite a couple being decent footballers. Hoppa and Metcalfe need to be considered. You can’t base every selection around defence especially with the amount of points being scored under the new rules.

Very disappointing and hard to watch today
-DCE needs to go to the line more and practice his short kicking I think he only got one repeat set and it has been appalling for awhile now ,he seems to find opposing players with monotonous regularity
-Keppie more game time Paseka out,Sipley or Boyle in
-Jetski I think goes and give Schuster his spot on the bench.Depending on how we are going he can have a bit of an intro to rotating for Thomo or go into 6 when say Croker or or Cust relieve Levi .At this point I dont see Jetski adds anything except a few penalties
-Cust to 6 ,although I think Des will give Froggy another go.
-9 is really hurting us I know Levi service is pretty good but he just doesn't have the smarts at this point that you need for a 9 he seems to run at the wrong time ,where as his opponent today who is very young just played it perfectly
-Elliot to FB ,Reuben is not a FB .Unless he thinks Hoppa is ready who is a specialist FB
-hopefully Suli is back if not Funa to the center I think he finds it difficult to defend as a winger
Anyway is all on again next week so hopefully with a few adjustments we can get over the Dames

But it’s true. He’s got garbage around him. Can you imagine him with a Keary, or even Dylan Brown. I’m a stickler for Cherry, that’s just me.

I think more likely the likes of Hoppa Metcalfe and Schuster will get a chance in a month or two once the team has settled back into a steady rhythm of consistent fighting performances. I doubt Des will rely on a speedy youngster to fix what was largely an attitude problem.

Attitude was an issue today for sure. However we did not have a fullback today, not in the game I watched and we have a future rep player in the wings who is a fullback. Albert should be at the top of the list now he is fit to play in the number one jumper.

I don't get this whole Api gone stuff, we let him go before we knew Fainu was a hard core gangsta amd needed to free up funds to re-sign the Turbo bros. Management can't be blamed for that decision...made sense at the time given the options and our salary cap situation

Ive seen nothing so far to suggest that fanny would have been better than API. I’d suggest that Api is playing first class top grade footy whilst our choice is on remand for attempted murder and injured.
I a m not implying in anyway his guilt but just pointing out how the guy we let go is performing...

There is no way Des will pick Hoppa jnr to play against Ponga. Way too much pressure - Elliott will be FB against the Knights.
But week after against the Drag Queens, perhaps a chance?

When you consider that all other clubs score 30% of their tries from kicks it is the most important area we need to fix.

This is spot on ,Maybe only difference I would put Boyle ,Sipley in for Paseka.

Sorry but Elliot provides nothing in attack. Safe doesn't generate points. Garrick at fullback was an astonishing selection in view of what happened last year when he was selected in that position. Croker tries hard but he is not the answer at 5/8 in my opinion and threw a dummy with men in space outside of him in the first half. Safe equals mediocrity and that doesn't win premierships. We need X factor and DCE needs to go back to basics until he finds form. We put on points yesterday after the Sharks dozed off and we only managed 6 points when it was still a contest. Come on Dessie roll the dice and give Schuster and Hoppa their shot.
