[Resurrected] Captain's challenge 'loophole' to be reviewed.

If the coaches and players can't pull their heads in and once...just for once not try and take every rule as an opportunity to cheat it, then the nrl may remove the captains challenge and we can go back to the refs making howler after howler every week without any recourse.

This is one rule that I can see the NRL removing, They will jump at the opportunity to remove a rule that basically embarreses their referees, I would like to know just how many times a captains challenge is upheld and at crucial moments.

I think what people are missing is that even though the Titans commiteed a foul to stop play ( so technically abusing the system to get the ruling) and get their challenge they were vindicated and scored from getting the ball back, how did the ref or the touchie not see the knock on from the parra player or the holding back of the titans player??
If the players on the field see it then this is exactly what the Captains Challenge is for and about.. getting it right and a team not being disadvantaged by a refs mistake.

If we didnt have the captains challenge last night the Eels would have won by 20 and its a completely different game, all on the back of bad calls or non calls by the ref and touchies.

I say keep it there and the Captains should be allowed to call for a challenge as soon as a tackle is made or the play stops and they should be able to challenge that play and the previous play if needed.

they only get one chance to get it wrong as it is and its not the players fault they they are holding up the game if they are getting the challenges right.

They're only blowing up because it nearly cost the scum sucking nrl darlings another undeserved ref assisted win. If it was done against the Titans then you wouldn't have heard a peep about it. It's pathetic how much the NRL and their media suckholes are trying to appeal to the westie moron scum masses.
P.S Due to those 2 fukwit Parra loving twats PEnnis and Vossectomy.

I reckon it's fair enough... you risk a penalty and loss of your CC because you are convinced (you would have to be) that the refs are frickin useless...

Risk vs reward seems about right to me and it is not like our game doesn't stop a million times a match anyways...

concentrate on getting the lay-down-sallys out of the game I reckon...

Am i remembering this correctly? Guthbo & Parra are whining about the same thing he did last year which is posted at the start of this thread?

The NRL are not thinking clearly. The player has deliberately broken the rules. Bin him.

I say who cares. Why do we want to limit what can be challenged. If something against the rules, is blatant, has been missed.

A team only gets one challenge FFS. So it's not like challenging any old thing might not come back to hurt. It would have to be a howler blatant stuff up in the first place.

I get its a farked loophole, but to be fair, if the refs did their job properly, players wouldn't need to resort to these measures. A ref, 2 touchies and a bunker with all the technology in the world, and they still get it wrong.

They'll probably get rid of the challenge as all it does is highlight the incompetence of the referees.

If a player intentionally commits a penalty isn’t that 10 in the bin?
And what about over turning penalties. Ive seen a few random unexplained ones over the years but did they cahnge that

How can commentators now say ive never seen a ref change his mind
