Yep Penrith came back to the field basically over night. Definitely no standouts and ill throw the rorters in there as well.

Been out of the loop forum wise a bit recently but certainly hope that things have improved and are better on the home front for you and your family Brad . Think that it will be very important to get off to a positive and good start once the season commences . There is much potential and playing ability in the present Manly squad and again a good and positive start will allow the necessary confidence and team stability and cohesion to work to Manly"s favour, and of course the earlier the better for the team's prospects .

Lets face it...on paper we're probably 8-10 ish compared with the top tier teams oozing rep players, even on the bench. So realistically for us to have a really successful season we'd need to A Make Brookie a real fortress again B Have a wonderful run with minimal injuries and the same cattle on the field all year and C Have a bit of luck with the bounce of the ball and ref decisions. On the basis of that I'd say making the 8 again this year would be a solid commendable result. I really just want to see us play 80 mins of committed footy every week and to not get flogged often tbh. I love this team but I think we need to keep it real re expectations.

Another factor to come into it is the new recruits and our rising stars .

Makes sense and apart from A , every team is B and C . This could be one of the closest comps in years because the Broncs , the riff , Storm and the likes have come back a notch i feel . Sharks will be up there around the top couple all year and maybe the rorters bit im not convinced about the Cronk fit . Roosters will either smoke it or be thereabouts so apart from that she's gonna be tight mid season.

Anything is possible but my gut feel is we are a bottom half of the 8 kind of team and won’t go deep. Recruitment hasn’t made a massive difference to the roster - I can’t see Thompson alone making the difference to turn us into contenders. 5/8 is a worry - if Croker is a revelation then yes we may go up a rung in the estimations. Other than that we are relying on some significant improvement across last years squad - not impossible by any means, but can Baz work that magic ?
