Can’t believe we’re 6th

After last week’s game against the Sharks and the inconsistency so far all year, plus the narrative of a split in the dressing room related to DCE, many of us (me included) had lost faith in the season. Yet, we’re somehow sitting 6th.

Amazing how one win can change the mindset so much.

Trouble is, if we lost last night, we’d only be two points ahead of the Eels in last place. We were right to feel like the sky was falling. We are not out of the woods yet. A tough SOO period coming up where we play three games without our stars. I get that DCE hasn’t exactly set the world on fire but he is better than Jake Arthur. Then, you’ve got to consider that injuries can happen and Tom may feature at some point in the series.

Of course, I’m not suggesting we’re out of the woods. But given how close the comp is I genuinely believe our best is better than most teams. We just need to find that gear more often.

We are probably the most disappointing team in the comp when it comes to backing up a decent win, especially against the "poorer" teams.

The script is in place for CommBank on Friday.

Yeah hard to believe, but I think a top 2 spot is out of reach (not that I think we are anywhere near that level) and a top 4 chance is our best possible finish.

Personally I doubt we make the 8.

I think Jake needs a decent break, a month or more. Hopefully Froggy is ready to go.

This is such a winnable year. We don't have the roster to win it, but it is infuriating that we can't play to our potential.
Origin period this year could be anything. Warriors as minor premiers? 🤯

Parra without Moses and Lolmax
Broncs
Titans
Knights
Bye
Tigers

Can't complain about that next batch of matches.

If we are in anyway serious, we should be 4/5, with the bye on top

I think what stands out for Manly is we don’t get smashed very often, if it all. The Tigers got 60+ put on them; that’s rock bottom, not a 30-14 loss to Cronulla, who just beat the Storm.

It was a tough win - “gritty” being the word. Showed plenty of character, but that type of win is hard to sustain, especially against tougher opposition. Still, any wins a good win and keeps us in the mix for finals.

Man 7 and 1 are both passengers ATM. As a result the attack is not exactly humming.

Turbos not fully fit.

DCE not clear why he can't run?

With a Focus on defence and the keys given to Brooks, Simpkins and Jazz. It can only make em stronger if they can work the stars back.
