2025 - 2026 off season

DCE is finally gone as well as quite a few others. It will be interesting to see what the off season brings. I am personally hoping for the following:

• At least one decent forward signing ( this does not include Kobe Hetherington.)
• Signing of the Tom and Jake on sustainable contracts.
• Positive progress for some of younger players e.g. Walsh, Large etc
• No BS flashy videos but genuine insight into off season training.
• some smart no frills type signings moving on from Lodge and alike and yesterday hero type players.
• the appointment of a decent assistant to replace ennis.
• last but not least the big announcement of DCE signing with the Roosters 😜

Interested in everyone’s thoughts. No doubt there will be some interesting posting in the non footy section 😜

Far out... He's been playing for the entire season, not just one game. One game isn't a reliable indicator of the calibre of player.

If one game were a metric of a player's future success, Andrew Johns would've been written off after his second NSWRL appearance.

Agreed with the rest of your points. Surely Matt Ballin is returning to replace Ennis.

No mate. Just think we need some one decent in addition to him. Personally I don’t much about him , yesterday was the first time I watched the Broncos play except for the game against us.

Nice one mate…..the season is done & dusted for us. Agree with your points for sure. Hopefully Tom signs for a few years on a reduced wage. I’m sure he will. As for Jake I hope he has a good break & thinks hard about playing on. I’d love to see him on the coaching staff……run on trainer to give the boys a kick up the arse if slacking off. Although I’d be worried he’d run on & tackle someone 😂. Give our younger forwards a chance to impress during off season training & trial games. Ensure Walsh, Fogarty, Brooks & Large spend as much time together as possible. Simpkin & Zaidas same! Would be nice to get a surprise forward signing or two…….backrow preferably. Finally assistant coach Matt Ballin. I think he’d do wonders with Simpkin & Zaidas!!! Rehabilitate the players properly rather than take risks.
Backs: Trbo, Hoppa, Koula, Garrick?, Talau?, Saab, Faulalo, Wilson, Willett, Kioa, Swann, ??????
Halves: Fogarty, Brooks, Walsh, Large, Wakeham

I’d like to see the young stars promoted and played. Id like yo see Fogarty and Walsh as our starting halves and our side playing smarter football. I’d like to see our at times fragile defence improve significantly.

Personally I’d drop Saab and let him fight his way back in through performance.

He’s seriously average at present.

Maybe Clayton F on the wing or bring up the young fella from Reggie’s that’s been doing well.
