Brotherly bond helping Manly Sea Eagles recruit Cameron Cullen overcome tragedy

The man inspiring Cameron Cullen's NRL dream won't be able to witness it unfold at Lottoland this weekend.

However, Cullen knows his late brother, Justin, will be there in spirit when he makes his debut for Manly against South Sydney.

Cullen and Justin were as close as siblings get. When Cullen signed with Brisbane as a 16-year-old and had to leave home, big brother went with him.

"He made me the person and player I am," Cullen said.

Good on you Cameron. I hope you really kick on and fulfil your NRL dream at Manly. Many of us one here have lost someone who's still with every day. My little 3 year old brother passed when I was 11 and a half. He's still with me everyday and he still supports Manly.
Have a cracker debut for the Maroon and White.

Hope he crushes it on the weekend. Love when people take something like this and use it to fuel their ambition.

But damn that article - what happened to his brother???

Cullen is a talented young man with a big heart .
It is very hard to focus on your game when tragedy strikes
Some people fall apart and others use adversity to take them to another level .
Cullen has impressed me in the trials with his enthusiastic never say die approach skill and courage . This player has put on his Manly jersey , put up his hand and let every one take notice .
Congratulations Cameron I am sure you will make all of us proud !!!

He also made the team of the week.

Club: Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles.

151 total metres, two try-assists, two line-breaks, four tackle-breaks, one try.
While the Sea Eagles couldn't get the chocolates in their first game as the joint venture, it wasn't through lack of trying from Cameron Cullen. The former Titan was in everything during his 80 minutes, combining well with Jonathan Wright to set him up for two tries. A piece of individual brilliance from dummy-half saw Cullen cross for the side's third as he thoroughly impressed the Blacktown crowd.
