Caleb Navale

Emotional ? And rigid ?
Hahahaha.

One of your best mate. You care too much.
Typical Ryan. Outrageous comment. Poke. Poke. Poke. Laugh at the person who's frustrated with you.

After all these years reading your posts about your mental health problems, I have no idea why you always resort to either mocking or attacking people. Completely unnecessary rubbish

Fair call, I'll dip out for the season. Enjoy.

For the record, they called ME emotional and rigid (and I was questioning that), so you obviously read it wrong, and went off half cocked. I wasn't calling them that, they were calling me that - please read the chronology of the thread correctly, before you batter me about my mental health !

Time, gentlemen (and ladies), time. I think we are all guilty of caring too much about MWSE. (particularly in pre-season) This goes with the territory of being both an "emotional" Sea Eagles fan and a member of Silvertails. Just remember that unbalanced, uncontrolled and vented perspectives on all things MWSE, are far more common than uncommon here. Personally, I have seen a lot to like from both pre-season games, and I predict that we will be six from eight by the beginning of May. Go Manly.

Whether you like @Ryan's posts or not, bringing up someone else's "mental health problems", unprompted, in a post is uncalled for.

I would hope for better on this forum.

Navale is a good prospect but not ready yet to be our 13.

Whilst I agree Jake would be great in the prop rotation , who then replaces those 60 tackles

There is a percentage of footy players that play to the level round them ... put them in reggies, and they perform to that level ... put them in 1st grade and they perform like 1st graders.

Kinda reminds me of Sam Backo.

didn't they used to wheel him out of wherever he was for 3 state of origin games per year for Qld where he used to play amazing?!?!

Let’s start writing of 21 year old players because of a bad stint in a trial game 👍 we’ll ignore the 94.5% tackle efficiency & 112 metres per game he averaged in his first season of reserve grade last year while being primarily a ball playing lock
I look at Glenn Stewart as a comparison... he was a small forward and was only an occasional first grader for 4 seasons before securing a starting position, and then never looked back.

Navale may make it as an NRL forward and we shouldn't write him off... but at this point in time I don't see him being in our top 17.

I have watched him more than just yesterday's trial .. and I don't think he had a bad game ... but having watched him play about 10 times .. I think he goes OK, I just haven't seen anything that convinces me he will be an NRL plyer.

You could be right mate but as we’ve seen in general it takes forwards longer to adapt to 1st grade. Even 1 of the best back rowers in the world our own haumole olakau'atu didn’t establish himself as a full time first grader until 22 years old

This guy is right, I'm 31 and still haven't established myself but the dream's never dead.

Considering the club signed him to a multi year deal it would suggest they both see potential in him as well as knowing he still needs to develop

To be clear. For year's Ryan has posted about his mental health problems, mostly in response to someone having a go at him. And yet, he bitches and provokes and denigrates any number of posters season after season. It's a complete double standard. One can't ask that other's don't attack them because they're fragile yet, at the same time, have a go at anyone they feel like. It is not cool.

I understand that you're his partner and must know a different Ryan to the one I've read endlessly on here over the years. But I am truly over his nastiness to others.

I won't post another word on this.

The thing that worries me is his inability to read the game. Can that be learned after years of junior footy?

Jake and Burbo are superior to Navale ? On what levels ? Experience ? What else.
oh come on Ryan! Jake is a machine in defence, our Fatty Vautin in the current day, a leader, passion. I agree that his attacking levels have degenerated over the years. Every team needs a tackling machine and we well know Jake delivers on this at a high level.

Burbo, yeah, Im not sold on him being a regular 1st grader yet, people waiting for a breakout year but I dont know if he ever will. He has been pushed from centre to 2nd row in 1st grade to fill gaps and hasnt had the chance to, or perhaps been good enough to cement a spot. He's a fair reserve or someone to come onto the bench to replace a reserve.

And despite the above, Navale has not warranted in any way to replace these 2.

There is still no reason to bring up something as irrelevant and personal as this, especially in a forum like this. Heated discussions happen and they happen in good will with passion. If I might say, to me the exchange seemed fine, it wasn’t bitchy or ill intended.

Bringing up and using someone’s mental health against them is never okay.

If you have such a problem with his posts, just scroll past them. We’re here cause we are passionate, not to argue like high schoolers 🙂
