Just got to watch the replay without knowing the result… raw thoughts.

I was cursing DCE after that running in defensively on the first Doggy try, but boy… did he lift and have a blinder after that. The DCE moment that I loved the most… he went down the blind on the 5th when we were in control and ahead and got caught without doing any Hail Mary BS. Smart % play.

Ola lifted.
Brooks fantastic
Turbo continued his form
Lehi is a star and will just continue to rise
After an infuriating start, Paseka, rose for a colossal game
Lodge amazing
Brown full of energy
Garrick had some great moments, tempered slightly by some poor defensive ones too.
The thing that continually amazes me about DCE is his resilience. Every other player misses matches, but not him. He has plenty of big opposition players running at him and yet he never shows he's hurt or fatigued. He not big nor musclebound. But he is a legend. Manly's greatest halfback, and we've had some absolute champions.

I absolutely agree. While his game management skills drive me nuts, it has to be balanced against resilience. He is a specimen.

The man is made of rubber. He has to be. I've seen him bent in ways only old WWF bendy figures should be bent. Ways that would have others rolling around in pain and agony.

Cherry just bends back into shape and keeps going.

Understated quote of the year from Yvonne…

“… just cannot take a trick at the moment
What rock has she been living under for the last decade?

Beat the guppies next week and we'll have taken the scalp of every other top 8 team. Something we couldn't do in 2021.
We could be in for a sneaky. God knows we have copped some raw deals with the Berries and Castles in the past. Underachieved. We are due an upset or two

Congrats on the win manly fans
I copped it fair and square in a doggies jersey in a packed pub on the northern beaches
I don’t think either team will make the gf this year sadly, onto the next but you performed better than us to fair and square
Dogs never gave up... and obviously missed Crichton.
I was a bit nervous about watching the game in a pub in Sydney South/West. But funnily enough more Manly supporters than Dogs - I guess they were probably all at the game!

On our day we can beat any team. We are just not consistent enough and shoot ourselves in the foot a lot of times. We just need to play with more discipline.
DCEs defence is suspect out wide, gets caught not sliding. And he jumps out of the line a lot. That’s my other concern.

He still had a hail mary.
Dogs just score and we all start wondering, there second last , maybe 90 seconds later on 4 th, mid field, grubbers cross field for oku
Nice play if it cones off
But hands the dogs the ball earlier than required and in far better field position than we needed

Cant help himself. He just seems petrified of defending a lead which is pretty ironic considering his style

There was a funny moment (for us) and a lame moment (for the dogs) with just under 3 mins to go in the first half, Nathan Brown gets tackled (after receiving about 30 high tackles in the half) - his arm hits #13 in the noggin and #13 throws himself backward like he's suffered a Bruce Lee movie kick.

Nothing happens despite him laying there like a man baby and even Brown walks over to him on the ground and calls him weak.

Go Manly!

Also...dce, stop kicking on early tackles without a plan. thanks.

Ciraldo and some others saying Dogs were a bit off but Manly fought hard early and got on top, that's why they were a bit off! Dogs came into this game as the form side in the comp, but they got hammered by our forwards.
I’m in the Dogs were flat camp. From the opening whistle, they were struggling to make 30m and we were marching up field. When they’re not flat, they charge onto the ball and have heaps of energy and line speed in defence. Their usual line speed was non existent.

Of course, when a team is flat, the opposition look like they’re way on top and that’s because there is little in the way of resistance. They’ve been up for weeks and lost one game since rd.11. Sooner or later they were going to lack a bit of energy and aggression.

I really want to see Manly wrestle momentum against an opposition that’s going hell for leather. That’s when we’ll know what our pack are made of.

Hmm, could be a chicken and egg argument. I vote eggs!
Either way the Sharks will help us work out whether our pack is any good, because they have heaps of decent forwards of all types.
