Hmm, could be a chicken and egg argument. I vote eggs!
Either way the Sharks will help us work out whether our pack is any good, because they have heaps of decent forwards of all types.
Yeah absolutely. I’m just basing my observations off what I’ve seen from Canterbury the last couple of months and their energy has been outstanding. I don’t see how they suddenly can’t handle Manly’s middle of the road pack. But who really knows for certain?!

After all the travel of the last 3 weeks I was not confident that we would beat the Eagles and felt they had a a lot to prove after the Tigers loss. Two standouts from my view:
Haumole is an absolute beast, whilst Ciro has built our smaller mobile pack into a strong unit I felt he really tested and exposed us a bit
Lehi Hopoate is seriously talented, Manly should keep him at all costs and not let another local slip away like his brother Will etc

Seibold seems to think Turbo will play finals ok but pain management can be a tricky one, at least you guys have learnt how to win without him as he is used to being out for extended periods.
Any news on Saabs ankle?

Manly's pack dominated from the first set. The ref could see what was happening and gave the Dogs a phantom penalty on the fifth tackle.
The try that followed immediately was the best thing that happened to Manly. It falsely indicated that the Dogs would win easily. Then when Manly did receive the ball they scored. Until the Clunker intervened. He CSI'ed some fingerprints on the ball and found a reason to disallow Guacca's try.
Manly officials will receive a rebuke this morning for not following the NRL script and sending the poor falafels home unhappy.

It's a syndesmosis injury (high ankle sprain). We won't see him again this year.

I didn't see it happen, but apparently it was a hip drop from your guy Xerri, and he was placed on report for it. Not sure of his judiciary record, but they do tend to take player injury into account, so you might be without him for a week or two.

The thing that continually amazes me about DCE is his resilience. Every other player misses matches, but not him. He has plenty of big opposition players running at him and yet he never shows he's hurt or fatigued. He not big nor musclebound. But he is a legend. Manly's greatest halfback, and we've had some absolute champions.
He’s a freak in that dept. look at Reynolds he’s 2yrs younger than dce and can barely get through a game and looks 4yrs older Lol

No sin binning. 🤷‍♂️

Well I’ll freely admit I was wrong , I just couldn’t see a win tonight as I thought the Refs would try and screw us over.

And they did try but we were better with our discipline tonight.

Bring on the last home game
To be fair other than some early calls to the dogs I thought ref was quite good. Klein let the game flow in the second half and it did t feel like there were many stoppages. Just my take. Actually Felt like the second half was like watching a game where ref put the whistle away.

Damn, that is significant. Yea it looks very similar to other hip drops wouldn’t be surprised if he misses a week or two. It appears to have been a costly game for both teams unfortunately.

Had to be pleasing how the side rebounded so well , total commitment and good , confident team play in attack . Solid and resolute defence in the main also , matched the Dogs energy and fitness wise and after that shaky start , pretty much had the game under control for a good part then
Middles definitely laid the platform but side was good enough to go on with it and make the most of some pretty slick attacking opportunities .
If they can keep that sort of momentum up , will compete with any of the front runners , having Turbo on board again soon , pretty much a prerequisite also naturally .
Would have been good to maybe press the advantage home on the last 20 or so but essentially still had the Dogs measure so not that critical .
Real positives having Lodge and Alioai performing well again , Froggy a bit ordinary early on but played a pretty solid role after that . Bit of versatility with Lawton there to give him a bit of a rest if required in future games .
Real lot riding on the result of course for Manly 's future prospects and Turbo "s and Saab"s injuries aside , just so good again to respond in that fairly convincing manner .
Hopefully , another big and confident effort next week and good outcome and then who knows for the finals

Would love to run it back again in a few weeks with a full squad Manly v Dogs. Really missed Crittas leadership he binds that team incredibly. Who are Manly fans hoping to play first in the finals?
