Not if he's not there

With Crichon out suspended next week, I am sure that the NRL will appoint one of these three to manage the game (woops, I mean referee the game) for them:
  • Adam "Six More against Manly " Gee
  • Chris "You're on report & you're on report & you're on report & you're on report " Butler
  • Peter "Daly! He's got 10 in the bin & he's got 10 in the bin & he's got 10 in the bin " Gough

Doesn't matter who they appoint. They're all equally fuked. We'll get shafted sideways

I've generally been happy with Seibold's selections this year.

But it's time to end the GCKT experiment. I understand the thinking around having a spark plug off the bench, one with a contrasting game to Croker's.

But he isn't up to finals football, so Simpkins needs to be picked over him this week.

Krilich tells it how it is…

Sea Eagles legend Max Krilich believes Manly has a side on paper capable of winning the premiership.
It’s why the loss to bottom-placed Wests Tigers last Thursday night was so unacceptable, with so much hanging on the outcome.

The two-time premiership-winning hooker has described the performance as “rubbish” and refuses to blame the refereeing and the fact that three players were sin-binned.

“We’ve beaten all the top sides this year but then we come out and play rubbish like the other night,” Krilich (pictured) said. “We’ve got to have a hard look at ourselves.

“It’s easy to blame referees but you’ve got to look at yourselves.

“The ref didn’t miss all the tackles, keep dropping the ball or allow the opposition to score 34 points. We got what we deserved.”

The Manly performance at Leichhardt Oval lacked energy, effort and hunger. Wests Tigers played like they wanted it more.

Without Tom Trbojevic, the Sea Eagles would have lost by a lot more.

“In this comp you’ve got to put in every week,” Krilich said. “They’ve got to get down in the trenches and fight like Nathan Brown and Jake (Trbojevic).

Look at Canterbury, who we play this week. They play so ferociously and I enjoy watching them.

“I don’t like being critical of the team. I love the club. I just know they can play a whole lot better.

“They’ll be in all sorts against Canterbury if they play like they did against the Wests Tigers.”

Krilich refused to name those who weren’t aiming up.

It’s unfair to single out individuals but you can start with second-rower Haumole Olakau’atu, who hasn’t been the same since State of Origin.

Their middle forwards got pumped by Wests Tigers.

The Bulldogs will blast them off the park unless there is major improvement in the clash on Friday night at Accor Stadium

Wow
That says it all
Great article
I hope our boys read it because it says all that needs to be said
Wish we had Mac over our current coach passion and desire for the jersey club and keeps high standards

He summed it up pretty well, the only thing he should have named the rest of the middles who go MIA, nailed Guaca who I think just needs to run hard and tackle hard, big bodies like Tent and Guaca don’t need decoy runners, just give them the pill and hit it up.

Jake gets too much credit and I know he is all heart and loves the club and team, but he has no attacking game anymore and his tackling is nowhere near what it was. He is Nathan Hindmarsh in his twilight years. All effort but little effect

He used to have amazing leg drive and post contact, used to have an offload. Now he drops like a sack of spuds after running in quicksand for 3 and a half metres

Heard Paul Langmack comment today that a,clubs culture is,driven by the senior players. I'm sorry but DCE , the 2 Turbos , Paseka and Aloiai ain't a patch on King, Watmough, the Stewart's, Matai, Lyon, Orford.

I don't know about Max being a better coach for us, but it may be beneficial to have him instill some passion and fire up the boys during this week and/or before the game on Friday. If not Maxy, then Spud Carroll. It certainly couldn't hurt.

I have a mate with 3 platinum tickets spare to Friday's game (section 106) will sell to a Manly fan only for less than cost price - $150 total. If anyone is interested, message me. Despite our feelings about last week, it looks like being a record Friday 6pm crowd.

Max will always be a club legend and his opinion must be respected but don 't go along with the line of not necessarily singling out any particular players for below par performances but then specifically referring to Haumole .
Not too sure how many games have occurred since the last S O O but guess about 6
, Haumole has missed 2 of those with that questionable suspension from game 3 and hasn 't been too bad in his club games since then .
Think that it has been 6 club games on further reflection as didn "t the side win 5 on the trot apart from the recent Tiger"s horror show .
Anyway , maybe more pertinent questioning the form of Alioai, Jake and Brown recently and the brittle mid field defence glaringly obvious on Thursday night .
Maybe missing a bit of Lawton's spark , not going to determine Manly "s overall future prospects in 24 but was going well . A few issues about possible improved 9 service .
A lot of inept play last Thursday , a bit reminiscent of that early season poor showing against the Dragons and seemed to be quite a bit better after that setback .
Here is hoping for a similar and late season major improvement or really will be final "s also rans fairly quickly

Last weeks result/performance has no bearing on how we go this week.

We are hard to read...I wouldnt be surprised to win 13+ nor would I be to lose 13+

Yes this is the most frustating part of watching them at the moment. You dont know when you'll get rocks or diamonds

The pass GCKT threw to Brownie was a shocker, way above his head with Brownie running full bore into the line. Been waiting for Gordie to finally pull the switch, but all's we're getting is a blown fuse.

Yep, even Shane Flanagan said the Manly squad was a Premiership winning squad. Just a crying shame that the coach isn't.

It reads like it was the article’s author:

We do have a squad capable of winning a premiership Lead by both NSW and QLD leaders
We have ....
Fast backline
Experienced halves
and Big Boppers in the forwards

The season is not over and Seibold has not finished his job as yet and has the opportunity to get our boys up for the big occasion
Our Season is still Alive
Never lose hope
as hope is Always the last to die feathered friend @Ralphie

Look I'm just a fan but I've been saying our defense has been rubbish since Dymock took over as assistant, we've looked good at times but inevitably get gassed and fade late. How many times have we seen Paseka or Sipley look absolutely gassed and not get subbed until a try is let in? Then they cop a pasting for being lazy but is it more likely our interchange management is off?

I don't know who else is available but Siebold isn't as bad as some people make out, he just needs the right people around him and Jim ain't it IMO. Our attack is not the issue although it could use some polish but we can't just rely on outscoring the opposition if we want to win a comp though.

Bulldogs will be up for it on Friday given they've sold 40k+ tickets for a 6PM Friday game at Accor. I think we'll have a better idea of where we're at given it'll have more of a finals atmosphere than Leichardt on a Thursday.
