Bulldogs - Salary Cap Cheaters

The Dogs are not that broke. They have just signed the winger Crichton from the 'Riff for three years.
I guess he's a lot cheaper than one of the Morris twins. But still, wouldn't you think they would be looking to develop their reserve graders for next season rather than recruiting?

He’s a good player that kid, I actually thought the Panthers might have invested in him on less coin than re-sign Mansour.

That’s not what has stumped me.. what player in their right mind would sign with them knowing what’s ahead for the bulldogs club? Surely better options for him

One thing’s for certain, the kid is going from the penthouse to the oat house. He’d be wise to enjoy every second of this season.

On the news last night when they were talking to the dogs ceo he implied that they couldn't recruit anyone but also that they would have no problem keeping all the players to make up their 30. Then they show greenturd walking from the club after a mtg. Bingo, the rug gets pulled up and the broom comes out. Doubt they will have any issues retaining all the players, even the grossly overpaid ones, they will sign a couple of young players and still have a little wiggle room to splash some cash around

He re-signed last year till 2020. One of the ones they’re overpaying

Mate I think we are getting our wires crossed, I continue to talk about Martin and you seem to keep referencing Hoppa.....I think

Otherwise you are saying that letting Martin go wont save them money than two seconds later that they are overpaying him.....

Anyhow, my point was that I believe Martin is off contract

Haha definite wires crossed. I was talking about hoppa. And yes Martin in the small amount I’ve seen him looks good

*sigh*

Edit: No one (well not me) expects anyone to go through the whole forum looking for duplicate threads. Just have a look on the front page...or if it sounds familiar do a search.

About a month ago I merged something like 20+ sCam smith threads, so......

Are you saying you want us to make another Cam Smith thread ?

Its funny how Crusher

Name one modern day successful coach who isn’t self interested or selfish. All part of having the highest pressure job in a the highest pressure industry of professional sport. Mark actually stated that he believed the real story lies somewhere in between the two extremes. Therefore, that means it is fair to say both parties are required to acknowledge blame. I too heard the Crusher Cleal side of things as well, which got me to thinking that it wasn’t a simple case of Dessie putting the knife in for fun. There were many people involved in all this, but only one person has been hung out to dry. I’m not suggesting Des should be ushered straight through the doors and handed the keys to the kingdom, but i choose to acknowledge what he contributed to the club, which is more than anyone else except perhaps Bozo and Arko. I don’t care whether people want to call him Doggsler, traitor blah blah blah, that’s up to them. But when you wipe away Hasler from the Manly Sea Eagles... you sure as sh1t are flushing a hell of a lot of success down the toilet.
Certainly not interested in engaging in history wars with these types of topics and maybe did down play Des Hasler"s coaching success and general contribution to the club a bit but one of the the main intentions in my post was just to highlight his really unacceptable general conduct with the Manly club at the time of his leaving and the [ on balance] undesirability of any return by him . I really have to only refer to Arko"s comments at the time [ losing all respect for Hasler ] and Max Krilich [ totally unethical ] to reinforce my contentions. Also i think that of course there are numerous other past players , coaches and officials [ apart from Arko and Bozo ] and i could name quite a few of them and who have at least equaled or most likely made more notable contributions to the club then Des . Any way what "s done is done , life and times move on, we are call entitled to our views and opinions and in this instance i will certainly not resile from mine

It was never my intention to try and bend you over to my way of thinking, your views are your own and you are entitled to them. But my point still stands, and the fact is, Des Hasler has been involved in 8 GF, four of which we won, and that right there is a fair sized chunk of our history. For me, it’s been a good thing that I’ve found a way to enjoy all of that success again. Because when I kept fanning the flames of bitterness underneath Desmond, it just made those great times feel somewhat diminished. Anyway 2011 did happen, and I understand completely how some people will never forgive him. Whatever the reason, my hatred has taken a downwards trajectory , but that doesn’t make me a better or worse supporter than those who feel differently. We all support this great club, despite any differences we may have about where the foundations have come from, and who’s been responsible for setting them in place.
