Brett Stewart may never play in the NRL again

At the end of the day we should be thankful that Brett is not running the Chinese restaurant mentioned in another post last week. The mind boggles at how the spelling of dish #120 would have turned out.

And as a secondary thought we should also be thankful for his great career at fullback for Manly.

Geez...I write for a living, and that is one true 'black spot' in my vocab. Can NEVER remember which is which (complementary or complimentary). One is to offer a compliment to someone, and the other is to signify that two things go well together. Should probably try to think up a word-association rhyme or something...
Stay away from teaching then - I wrote for a living then taught for a bit and that completely buggered my spelling. I saw so many wrong versions of so many words that today, years after the teaching stint, I'm still a spelling barscet kase.

To compliment is to say something good, and 'I' am good (though this might not work for you if you have a low opinion of yourself)

As far as I am concerned if someone has written "compliment" when they meant "complement", they may as well have written "fgffecju"

Stuff me look at all you hoiti toiti "league supporters" with your grammar and I before e except after c. You make me sick! Next you will be telling me you boarded at Joeys - Closet union fans the lot of you!
Union fans are hopeless with apostrophes. I went to Beacon Hill High.

I feel like this type of article has been written almost on a weekly basis, with no new information essentially within the content. There is no debate about whether he will play again, it's been done to death, it's just a case of waiting for the official announcement.

You're right @Mitch and I reckon the article was written because Brett's restaurant picture was put here on silvertails last week.

No. Kings' actually (That's a lie. Who's got that sort of money ?)

Yeah he won the sexiest man title back in the day.
There's been some hotties. Wolfman, Matt Ballin, smiling Stevie Matai.
Now Manly's recruiting guys with heads like Nate Myles, Lewis Brown and Jackson Hastings??? Disappointing for an appreciator of fine arts.
I know, right...my wife's interest in my sporting hobby is starting to wane...

In the looks department, things hit their lowest ebb around the time of Mark Broadhurst's recruitment* in 1981. Sorry Mark, but you were no Brad Pitt/Paul Newman/Errol Flynn in the Handsome Stakes. Fortunately they did have some handsome lads in the team at the time to counter that.

*With an honourable mention to John Hopoate, around a decade later.
