Brett Stewart... is it just possible we are ringing the bell prematurely?

Reserve Grader
We all know he was a mere (sad) shadow of himself in 2016.

But....just what if.....Tiger Woods style....he's able to get rid of the back/hammy/knee issues and be back to full fitness?

I know everyone assumes Tom T has an automatic mortgage on the no.1.... and there's no doubting how good he is.... but couldn't he be just as good (Inglis/Dugan style) in the centres?

I mean does anyone seriously really imagine one of the greatest ever Manly players, if fit, being in reserve grade?

How good would it be to see Brett scoring (and setting up) tries for one final year, with a centre combo of Tom T and Dylan Walker, plus the new speed kid Brian Kelly as back up (or better still on the wing considering our reserve grade/lack of speed wing roster).

Interesting that nobody has written of Billy Slater, yet it everyone seems to think Brett is long gone.

Just what if we've all made the error of writing off a champion too soon? Or am I simply holiday dreaming?

Ahh thanks Mark from Bris, there was always the possibility I needed you to set me straight, it's probably just the Byron holiday sun getting to me...

(But are we absolutely sure... wasn't he back to training last week?)

Slater is running on empty,no real comeback from shoulder surgery, the great Sterlo even said the same,Brett however could make a comeback from whatever it was that suppressed him.maybe the though of being yesterdays hero will be enough motivation

I heard from a source close to the champ that he is faster and stronger than ever and looking to make 2017 his swan song.

He. Will. Not. Quit!
