Come Origin time and Greg Bird is one of the first names on the team sheet (along with Gallen and Hayne) in recent years. But his club form has never been in the same class as other backrowers of this era (Gift, Choc, Hoffman, Lewis etc).

I'm happy for us to pick up Nate Myles, but we start getting a couple of these older players and I'm questioning the direction. I think Myles will be great for Turbo and Sao etc.

So, we whinge when the club aren't signing anybody. Then, we whinge when we are maybe looking to sign a rep forward. More than likely a media rumor though. Dick or not, i think he is a good, tough player.

Similar vein to what watmough was like at Manly but without the errors, may be a bit long in the tooth but he is not past it. On another note if Manly sign a person who glassed a woman then manly would have no issues going after the human bubbler.

Yeah a bottom of the ladder team doesn't need origin forwards, we have Hasson god dammit. I also here ? is twice as good as Carney and is an international for PNG, so we have it made in the shade for halves next year.

I told the collective negative muppets on here to piss off. You chose to label yourself as one. Telling me personally to **** off because of my opinion smacks of hypocrisy a little wouldn't you think. My mandate against those slagging off the club is clear. Dissecting news and having rational argument and opinion etc is fine by me. But bagging players, staff and potential signings personally and linking that to the club being pathetic, is just nonsense. OK back to ya corners - I get it....1 wants Bird, 1 doesn't - no big deal - if everyone had the same opinion it would be boring.
To the point both have merit as the bloke can play which is a huge temptation because what he offers is that tough intimidating leadership we need.
On the flipside, his off field antics have led to media scrutiny.....imo if he does not have a negative effect on the club - well worth a punt.

Yes there are some legitimate stories (which funnily enough they only seem to come out just before we actually make a player movement i.e. Mateo rumours) out there and it is valid to be concerned if the club is looking to recruit a player like bird however I always struggle to understand the over reaction to what could very well be a player manager driven story
