Ben Hunt?

A huge No!! This guy has spent the best part of the last 3 season trying to get out of his contract at St Merge.

Would you want someone like that on your roster, now matter how talented he is!

Yeah, I reckon the Dolphins - they haven't really had anyone make their mark at 5/8th up there so Katoa has had to do most of it on his own.

Hunt would be an excellent halves partner for Katoa.

Surely whoever signs him will not be forking out anything close to his current salary.
I'd also ensure it is a two-year deal, no longer.

Who ever signs him and keeps him happy will get a gun player
He parted ways at the dragons because the relationship between player and club ended at an all time low
He was home sick and a move close to home is a win for Hunt
and a Win for the home club that signs him on a good value 2 year deal

I would say his manager could negotiate 600k a year deal which makes it a 2 year 1200k deal
Not the same as a 950k a year deal as at the Dragons but money is not the only motivator if he is living close to home with all his family .

It all depends on what the Broncos do with Ezra Mam, who clearly has some issues, and given he was apparently drug affected (not proven yet), unlicensed (proven), crashed into a car carrying a child (proven), who thankfully was not seriously injured, albeit broken bones.

For the normal person, like most of us on this site, that's potential jail time, or at least where the NRL has no choice but to ban him for an extended time, as it would not be a great PR exercise if they did not. The NRL has lots of precedents whereby they have suspended players for lengthy periods and this would not be a good PR look, particularly if he is found guilty of having drugs in his system if they do not suspend him.

Mind you, no results have yet been published about the second drug test and Mam still has not been formally charged, so he is innocent of drugs until proven guilty, however, he is certainly guilty of being unlicensed while driving, so his vehicle insurance company is ceratinly not going to help him, nor are his third party insurers for injuries, so he is already up for a 'motza' in costs.

In my opinion, the Broncos will look at their juniors coming through and if they believe there's talent they believe can be realised in 2 years, or they can poach someone else, they'll tear up Mam's contract (if Mam is charged with being affected by drugs when driving) and sign Hunt.

Just my thoughts.

Do I feel sorry for Mam? No! He just wasted and incredible opportunity in life and he put himself in a position whereby he thought he was above the law by driving unlicensed, and possibly drug affected (not proven) which ulimately put other lives at risk.

The Donkeys just coughed up a reported $1.25m per season for the next four years for Walsh. That's an awful lot of loot for a player who is a wonderful attacking weapon but suspect in defence and prone to making mistakes.

That’s ridiculous, correct me if I’m wrong but I’m not surprised after Peter Vlandys labelled him as the poster boy of the NRL lol

And people reckon Tartak is n his pat malone
Give his manager the gong. Great job.
Having the qld media on side , home town,
See if he develops into a billy slater type as he needs to on that coin. Doesn’t look to have as much competitor or resolve as slater however gifted and fleet footed he may be
Slater was grubby but he copped plenty , chicken and egg maybe, and he overcame some absolute clangers early on
I dont see that much in walsh and he will get tested more and more , its a different era but it can be lonely back there for a lightweight

A 4 year lucrative deal for the 22 year old freak
who is only going to keep peaking to his personal best
and is also a Magic Marketing tool for the Broncos and the game
Walsh is a Great Investment Indeed

Finally something we can agree on.Walsh is a marketers dream. The Broncos will get most of his contract back just on promoting him alone.People I know who’ve been regular visitors to Broncos training since their inception, have said they’ve never seen anything like the attention and fan adulation Walsh gets from fans.Obviously the support can dwindle over time if the team is not successful, but the Broncos have too much talent to not succeed

And it will just take 1 Ezra Mam moment, and it's all wasted. He has the ability to be the number 1 star and also to be the number 1 wasted soul.

The attention and adulation he receives when it’s so obvious he is a tosser, speaks to a generation reared on social media…the bigger the noise, the more attention it gets.

Saw it first hand at an Origin open day up here, it's obvious by the way he carries himself he's a flog. Gifted as hell as a footballer don't get me wrong, but off field sheesh.
Must be the only player with a daughter too as that comes up all the time up here 🙄

Just the way he walks is enough to give it away…biggest hero! I’m mindful of tall poppy syndrome and I am prepared to concede that he is a very talented footballer, but that ego is something else and I don’t believe it’s healthy for anyone to have such an inflated sense of self.

It’s common for polarising players like Luai and Walsh to publicly call out ‘the haters’ and suggest that they’re just being ‘themselves’ and only opinions of their close friends and family matter, but I would argue the contrary…if lots of people think you’re dickhead, maybe there is some truth to it and it might be time to reassess.

$1.25m/yr reasons to say he'll only get worse now!

He walks around like Vince McMahon
