Ben Barba re-signs with Cronulla Sharks

Cronulla will announce they have re-signed fullback Ben Barba on Wednesday afternoon - however it is understood he may not be able to begin training with the defending NRL premiers for up to four months.

I wonder how Mullen feels?

Baa Baa only hit his missus, epic bendered, and snorted coke. Good role model for the mob and the dogs, bad life choices for a braindead ****wit.

Mullen took steroids to repair his hammy and make his popeye biceps. Bye bye Mullen.

Sport draws a line between stupidity and enhancement. See ya Mullo.

Shall we ask Snake or Matai why they didn't roid up as they walk away rom their jobs?

The hypocrisy is nothing new for rugby league clubs. The rule is: the better the player the greater the leniency.
Pity Liam Knight hadn't cemented his place in the Manly top side or he wouldn't have been dismissed.

Little man/Ugly mug syndrome.

Not only should these loose cannons be barred from playing NRL/attending games for life, they should also be held accountable monetary wise ie sued for whatever damage they have caused to the reputation of the game. If every NRL player had a section in their contract stating this, i am sure they would think 50 times before making an ass out of themselves and the game in general. In Barba's instance he should be sued for all he is worth. What a joke. When will the rot ever end. Hopefully he gets his karma on the field.

Hmm interesting point there @EagleFlys, so does Mullen's salary get included in Drugcastle's cap, if he is booted?

And with Baa Baa, (I like how you spelt Ben's name so thought I would use it too @EagleFlys), with his 'New' contract, was it the same $$$ the gummies had him on before he was caught snorting?

Was reading the Sharks are going to push for the world club challenge and the 9s (?!) to be part of his suspension! They got some nerve :swear:

I think this is great move for both Barbs and the sharx - after they have a great record of supporting convicted and rehabilitated drug cheats

barba off to play union for awhile...

BEN Barba has joined cashed-up French rugby union club Toulon for the remainder of the Top 14 season.

Toulon released a statement late Tuesday night saying that the rugby league star had agreed to jump codes, despite the troubled Cronulla star currently serving a 12-match NRL ban after testing positive to cocaine use.

....So he has been re-signed by cronulla, and can still go and play (union) and get paid.

Kind of a joke of a suspension.

If the nrl wanted to show some backbone...that could possibly say that for every week in union barba plays...a week gets added on to his nrl suspension.

the nrl take great steps to stop nrl players trying out for other codes but let this guy get away with everything.

Ok, he's not contracted which happily lifts any responsibility off the nrl but they do have a say when he can be 're-approved' but you can bet.....they'll let him straight back in. Buzz will be happy.

And Toulon Rugby are able to morally and ethically defend their decision .... how?

And Flannigan and Cronulla are morally and ethically able to defend their aiding and abetting a drug cheat to not only circumvent a penalty but actually profit from it .... how?

I dont know, but when toulon was asked the question this was there response:

If he is playing rugby he cannot be registered in league therefore has not started his suspention

May have misunderstood your response. You raise a very interesting point. Will laugh my tits off if they say your suspension starts from when you re-sign. But that would take an NRL with balls and ethics.
