If the Storm were deleted from the NRL hands up who (outside of the club) would actually care?
Give their licence to the Central Coast.
I hate them as much as anyone, but unfortunately the NRL needs a team in the 2nd biggest city in the country.

Why???
[/quote]because then it cant be called NRL (national) rugby league.. it will jus be arl again lol.when melb came in it was changed to nrl. to make it out like its national, when 2 states only really play it thats us & qld..

Ever heard of Auckland??
and there was a hell of a lot more went on for it to become NRL than simply expanding into a 3rd state (plus an extra country and the ACT)
Super League ring any bells???

We need a team in Melbourne & a team in Perth.
The game needs to grow in the UK, NZ, France & the USA.
It's all to do with money, money comes from TV networks & TV networks will pay more for something that will give them coverage to more people.
If we're ever going to compete with the AFL, we need to appeal to as many or more people than them.
Acting like a little boutique sport that keeps to itself is the first step towards insignifigance.
Superleague was about selling out the game.
We need to sell the game without selling it out.

This.
While in the big picture we'll never compete with the AFL in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. What you do is create a niche market where the team get's 17,000 people rocking up to the game.
In a little way the International game is growing.
France will be more or less be playing Wales for a spot in next year's 4 Nations.
UK crowd's have gone up and in Wales the sport has exploded due to work from Crusaders RL and South Wales Scorpions.
In the US/North America the game is also growing from the roots up. Canada recently started playing again.
