I really appreciate this act of class on your behalf. You and I have agreed on a lot of things since that discussion but the memory of you calling my integrity into question did linger a little in the back of my mind, but no longer. My sincerest thanks!
And thanks for such a gracious acceptance of my apology.
Now.
Imagine if everyone on Silvertails were as civilised as we two!!? lol

The only thing I have heard to the contrary to that @40 years an eagle is that allegedly Hastings' room mate Shaun Lane backs up Jackson's version of the hotel incident.

Whatever the truth is, the team that runs out onto the part needs to forget about it and just get on with winning football games......beginning with another demolition of Doesn't-matta.

TBH I don't see the big issue with going to a strip club.

OK, OK, I know how that sounds. But, not only are they grown men who were just blowing off steam after a loss, they did it without getting drunk and/or causing havoc like we have seen from so many in the NRL before (no one got so drunk that they defecated in a hallway did they.....). They were all well behaved and the incident with DCE and Hastings didn't happen until AFTER the players who had been out got back to the hotel.

The going to a strip club part really is making a mountain out of a molehill if you ask me.
Wonder how many of the WAGS knew about it and what they think ?? If you want to blow off steam go to a pub, do you really need to go to a strip joint ?? It's just asking for trouble because you know it's going to get blown up in the media.

2 snippets that sum up this whole freakin' mess for me.

Well..... Connor Watson used to be his flat mate when he was at the Roosters, and I know his parents from waaaaay back. According to Connor??

Hastings is an A Grade, Black Belt d**khead. Absolutely hated living with him, and he wasn’t above hurting team mates in opposed sessions “accidentally”...

and

MANLY arranged counselling for Hastings but it’s understood he didn’t continue with the sessions.

That's all I need.

Good riddance to the serial pest.

I do see your point @Spartan Eagle because to the public, especially a Manly hating one, its not the best look. But as I said, the report from the club owner is that the players were quite well behaved. They weren't getting drunk and harassing the girls or other patrons or causing property damage.

The DCE-Hastings incident had nothing to do with them going to a strip club. The Nudie bar is just the by-line that has grown legs.
I get that they were well behaved. But coming off a resounding loss I wouldn't be encouraging the boys to go to a titty bar. It's not a classy look these days especially when we're struggling with corporate sponsors. We are already under the microscope and although our boys were well mannered the media scum are itching to paint us in a bad light..

And to think someone ( sorry I forget whom) was excited that this thread might get to 40 pages!!

Lol, 50 easily and more !!

By the way, this must be such a distraction for the players , so I think it might be Eels by plenty on Sunday!!

Thing is DCE nabbed the garter, stripper was wearing, as rank's privilege, and Hastings wanted it. There was a scuffle and the girl got hurt because she was still wearing the garter. The lads have to learn to share

It may not be a big deal to the WAGs, or some of them at least. My partner works in mining, and sometimes the guys he’s socialising with choose to do said socialising at a strip club. I don’t really care, TBH - they’re not allowed to touch the strippers, and it’s not really the kind of place that’s full of single women throwing themselves at the mining blokes!

So now its also about the feelings of their partners?

This is what I mean when I said its making a mountain out of a molehill. Its growing more arms and legs than an octopus when the reality is that attending a strip club had zero to do with the actual incident.

Some quotes for the team today:

After patiently listening to the dramatic exchange it was Fonua-Blake who restored calm when he said: “I will tell you. To me he is a good bloke; I can’t speak on behalf of anyone else.

“I found him really good and it is very unfortunate what happened to him.”

Manly players were understandably reticent to discuss Hastings and what has happened with him.

“I don’t really want to talk about him,” said winger Brad Parker. “I like Jackson, everyone likes Jackson he’s a good kid.”

Asked if thought Hastings could make a return to the NRL squad this year Parker said: “Baz has talked to us, it’s not up to the playing staff whatsoever.

“It’s all up to Baz …. it’s his decision, all we can do is play our best footy individually and a team.”

But Parker did say the environment at training over the past few days had been good.

“Look, it’s a long season, it is 26 rounds a year,” he said.

“On the Monday we came in, we assessed what the issue is and what’s been going on.

“This week l feel like we’ve had a real positive impact, the boys are up and chirping and staying together, we are going to have dinner tonight.”

When asked if he had a problem with his banished team mate, centre Brian Kelly replied: “No, I’m just all good mate.”

The problem with the 'media' is that it s full of muppets.

What has happened with Jackson Hastings is no different to what would happen in any work place. If a junior employee has a punch up with his team leader, chances are he's getting the sack or at least demoted to another department. Either way, it was a bad career move and his chance of being promoted back up through the ranks of the organization are over unless he turns out to be a superstar or there is a change in senior management.

Not all employees would agree with the decision to sack him because some employees would have liked the guy. Regardless, everyone has a job to do and moves on.

That is the way of the world.

DCE as captain was always a disaster waiting to happen. Barrett came out and threw Hastings under the bus but the truth get's out DCE is the same turd he has always been. The performance on the weekend looked like a team who didn't want to play with DCE. Oh well only have to put up with DCE for 8 more years can we survive with him? I have my doubts.

Just looking at Nein news, it appears that the club might possibly sanction DCE for his part in this blue with Hastings.

lol, the club sanction DCE? No chance! Manly must have a game coming up, it's time for the weekly "falsehoods to destabilise the team" quotes.

There'd be only the teeny weeny titsy bitsy tiniest chance in hades that they would 'fine' him some $$$$ and no chance they'll stand him down.

- that's not a go at you sheridanstand78 btw. :)
