I like your thinking and direction here @Ryan. I doubt however we will ever see Jake an Lachlan as reserves. I am still big on loyalty and allegiance (yes I know) so I would not be interested in ANY of the Fainus back at the club. I wont elaborate any further.

With you on the Fainus not coming back to us, there're a poison chalice, to be avoided at all cost. If Latu and Sione get side lined, Samuela wont be a happy camper either.

Why would Manly look to take Latu back? He is on $500k, we have DCE + Brooks so not paying that for a backup half and we signed Walsh and Large as our longer term halves partners.

Looks like both clubs [ Manly and Tigers ] just holding out for a still more then likely eventual deal on Bateman.
Bateman is still getting [ or presumably] his standard contract payment from the Tigers so pressure must be growing on their management for a resolution not too far down the track .
Some doubts but in the current Manly forward make up , should be well worth the punt if the terms favor or are agreeable to Manly .

Would have to assume that he [ Bateman ] still has something to offer and hopefully injury or injury prone free.
More likely Jake to spend a lot more time [ or starting ] as a prop in 25] then just need the likes obviously of Tent , Bully , Sips , Alioia and Tevaga to step up well

Yep I think it's there or thereabouts for our middles in 25 plus Taukeiaho. Not a bad bunch and might actually do the job over 27 grinding rounds. Be a good group to "blood" a couple of the young up and commers. Jake and croker the interesting challenges for the coach.

Fair opinion. I just think he is that tough aggressive no compromising player we currently miss in our pack. Obviously he has that same style off the field and up against massive ego's like Stewart and Benji i can understand why there were issues. I don't think that will be the case with Siebold.

That's my concern as well, a bit skinny in the legs for me. He'll be rag dolled by the bigger forwards. His best days were at the Faders, and that was a while ago now.

Still think that Burbo has the capacity to offer more and with his versatility , should have a good case to be in a game day 17 but Bateman all going well and with his experience level , could prove more then a handy acquisition and as a starting edge .
Know that there has been some suggestions of trying to transition him into a 13 role but with his playing style , would seem unlikely .

Mate, Burbo is a spot defender. That means the opposition focus on him, as he arm grabs, lacks lateral defense, and doesn't move with the defensive line. Calling for Burbo to me, means we are really scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Brbo has a long way to go before he becomes a certainty for the 17! His versatility is nothing to write home about. Too slow for Center, not hard enough for back row & not the best defender. Maybe a little more speed training & bulk he can get better. Bateman offers way more to the team in my opinion. As much as I like the Trbojevic’s…Brbo & Jrbo are not match winners!

It's bad that I'm finding myself hoping that Croker picks up a long term or career-ending injury but I think that's about the only way we will get this outcome.
