Good hard game ,how much would of we won by if certain players passed & caught like pro,s should.Need to put glue on Kites hands..

That was the dumbest display of discipline ive ever seen that second half. If only they shut their gobs and hold onto the ball. Orford went mising as usual in the big games.

Orford didn't go missing. He set up Kennedy's try in the first half, was involved in Kite's and put in some great kicks that we nearly capitalised on.

However, we need to learn to hold onto the ball, stop lying around in the play-the-ball and shut our mouths. Sure, the refs haven't been helping, as we always seem to be on the bad end of the stick when it comes to penalties around the ruck, but gee Travis, shut the hell up and play some footy.

Matai was probably our best, with Kennedy coming in a close second. Someone mentioned on here that Matai doesn't nearly get enough line breaks. Well, he certainly showed up Gasnier in defence tonight. He was awesome with the ball in his hands.

All props stood up tonight, with King, Kite, Bryant and Leuluai all having good games, save for maybe King and Kite's last run where they both either gave away penalties or made mistakes.

I have to question (again) Williamson's placement on the bench. He offered nothing in attack when we needed it at the end. Bring up Cuthbertson.

Dunley played well, though he still has a habit of missing tackles leading to tries (he dropped off Head when he made his bust for Cooper to score).

Watmough missed the tackle for the Cooper try, he also missed the tackle when Young made his break.

Two very, very soft tries near our line, apart from that we were pretty good. Terrible discipline and ball handling once again though.

Matai showed what he has in attack tonight, also passing alot more, setting up a Robbo break and giving Brett Stewart a try, after stepping straight past Hornby. IMO, we need to search for a 5/8 and a hard front rower to replace Kite.

King improved again IMO, some strong runs, and offloads.

Kite was appaulling.
Orford kicking game appaulling.

Wer could be 13th after this weekend !!!!

After tonight's performance, if we sign Jamie Lyon, put him into five eighth rather than Burns, and leave Matai in the centres.

Mate - we need a GOOD 100+ metre prop. Not King on $220k. Not Kite on $270k. Burns is a good defender, but adds absolutely nothing at all in attack. That said, Orford's not doing that much better. I DEFINITELY would say Orford won't be playing 1/2 back for NSW or Aust.

It will be:-

7. Barrett or Gower
6. Lockyer or Anasta

Good for us I guess.

Give it a break Downie.

Why didn't you say Watmough still has a habit of missing tackles leading to tries ? (which he does). Dunners was only one of several tacklers that didn't complete their job on that ONE Cooper try that you're talking about. Several players stood looking at runners and took their eyes off the man with the ball - and gave Cooper the free to the line. Watmough was most responsible, and he doesn't even get a mention from you.

Monas was a speed hump for the try that ultimately lost us the game. King and Kite cost us the first try by moving wide at the ruck on the line. The other Beaver got stood up badly by his opposite - Cooper - for the other try.

Dunners consistently put us on attack, on balance was one of the better players on the field today and is starting to run into form. And he was one of the players that wasn't effective in defence for one try.

Dunley played well, though he still has a habit of missing tackles leading to tries (he dropped off Head when he made his bust for Cooper to score).

dunners still has a way to go IMO, still be happy for monas to play more and interchange him with burns, release kite and go on the hunt for a good attcaking 5/8, when is scott hill off contract???

Be happy to release Kite, but only because we paid too much for him (not his fault). He's big and has a high workrate, and we could spend our money better elsewhere. Need a quality replacement. An unfortunate game tonight, but that happens sometimes.

Lyon at five-eighth would be ideal. Travis is only a kid so we'll have to see what he develops into.
