apocalypse or opportunity ...

The weird thing is that I have now listened to Chez and Mestrov, they both seem to agree on most aspects of the timeline yet I STILL have NFI how it got to the point where Chez announces this on 100% Footy whilst Mestrov and co are making offers through NRL360… so f*cking weird…
Just reading what Mestrov told Fox sports about 40min ago. Evans knew about the 1.4m 2 year offer via his management the day before they told this to 360 last night. DCE having a chuckle on this on 100% Footy is very disingenuous to say the least.

Far from an apocalypse. We weren't going to win a premiership if he stayed on for another year or two anyway. He hasn't got us there in the last 10 years in his prime so there was no chance he was getting us there next season or the one after.

So what does it really matter if we miss the 8 for a couple of years while we reset, or limp into finals and get knocked out week 1. That was going to happen if he stayed anyway, as it has for the last 10 years of his tenure

I'm firmly in the opportunity camp. Yes it might be a lean season or two, but onwards and upwards.

after you lot apply the haemorrhoid cream ... you can start to ponder where we go from here ... with a million added to our recruitment fund in the search for a replacement.

Lehi Hoppa to half like Campbell at the Titans ... You heard it here first ... has the hands, the pace, the footy nouse, vision and skills ... could be the move of the decade.

Has Mitchell Moses got a get out clause ...

Is Lachie Gavin a chance ...

Is either Walsh or Large going to be teenage prodigies ... remember Gavin is only 19.

Who else is available?

I'm excited .. we live in interesting times .

Hoppa to 5/8th. Said same myself a few weeks ago on here.

Because DCE is all about, DCE.

How do you not know this by now?
I do not doubt that and I suspect that is the case for most players - look at our squad as an example… but, if the club wanted to keep him (and their last-gasp offer and Mestrov’s interview today indicates they did) then how do you explain them not being able to do so with salary cap exemptions in their favour?

I cannot see a club is coming in and offering Chez $1M+ at 36yo (imo) - at least not one he is likely to end up at… maybe dolphins could…

Edit: opportunities galore but also an apocalypse 😉

Everyone saying the club should have done this, should have done that need to realise that DCE and his manager broke ranks and went to Weidler/Ch9 with their announcement, without doing it the right way which would be jointly with the Manly heirarchy. They did this to drive up market value for this next contract which he has a right to do. But don't go canning the club. They can't control what he's going to say to the media.
Yeah it was a public fishing expedition to ask clubs to get in the queue - offers in hand. Then let the bidding war begin

Mate ... he could make a pretty good living as the new CEO of the RLPA, and sitting behind the mike of numerous sports broadcasts ... for all we know he has been offered a squillion by a competitor network entering the Broadcast deal rights ... and has a confidentiality clause ... all without getting his body bashed.

We just don't know.

I like it. Does Seibs have the vision to implement it?

Exactly. I’d argue that Turbo being fit is more important than DCE playing. If Tom plays more than he doesn’t next year we’ll play finals. Put anyone at halfback.

Good points… the scrambling offer by the club is weird though, right?

Anyways, it is not what has happened but what happens now…

I like the suggestion by @Heckenberg that we enquire with young Wishart through your mate Reubs (who happens to be his brother-in-law)… would help to keep us competitive until the kids are ready..

Interesting ... there are some Silvertails that love a Neppo appointment ...

I would suggest that Mestrov already has 25 call messages on his phone from managers of halfbacks this morning ..

In the movies Zombieland ... a very ordinary nerd Colombus gets to shag Wichita (Emma Stone) and Maddison (zoey deutch).

Something he would never of had a snowflake's chance in hell of ... without the Zombie apocalypse.
Now I am going to have to watch this movie now, you know to see if you were accurate on the details .. :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

Yes that is the elephant in the room. There must have been a trigger.

I do. One in particular. They did it when they won their last premiership.

It’s an opportunity to rebuild BUT we must accept it could then be another long period without a Premiership.
Adam Reynolds had that affect on Souths
The half back controls the play and the game more than any other player
Souths have struggled since
We have Brooks and Arthur and a couple of kids who "could be" and that is a long way off
We also have other Experiments with Lehi and Tom
But Nothing beats the Experience of an Elite half backs Kicking and Control game .
In Time and with New Great Manly People at the Helm we will recover but under our current circumstances it will take some time .
Until then we all need to use Woosdies haemorrhoid cream to ease our extended premiership winning drought pain
