This is definitely an opportunity for the club to move forward. Rebuild and rebrand itself. Look inwards and focus on junior development and giving our young players a run. It might be a few lean years but it's the best way to build something special. Build a culture and a team players want to play for. Finally have a captain that bleeds manly also. The weird thing is that I have now listened to Chez and Mestrov, they both seem to agree on most aspects of the timeline yet I STILL have NFI how it got to the point where Chez announces this on 100% Footy whilst Mestrov and co are making offers through NRL360… so f*cking weird…

Everyone saying the club should have done this, should have done that need to realise that DCE and his manager broke ranks and went to Weidler/Ch9 with their announcement, without doing it the right way which would be jointly with the Manly heirarchy. They did this to drive up market value for this next contract which he has a right to do. But don't go canning the club. They can't control what he's going to say to the media.

He'll be putting in, he still wants to play SOO and presumably for another club mext year. He's not the type of player to deliberately ease up on his game.

I was only thinking about Lehi in the halves last night @Woodsie but I wasn't as bold as you to post it . Now that I've applied the tube of Prep H, I'm out there with you . My only concern is every big a*se forward would be running at him all day. Something I was thinking about with Campbell and was interested to see how that pans out over the year. I'd like him to fill out just a little more.

Not sure Seibs is of the same mind though.

People crying over DCE just don't get it.

He presided over the messiest contract saga in NRL history.

He was a major part in and accelerated the break up of what was one of our strongest ever rosters.

He was paid a king's ransom for ten years which severely limited our ability to sign any stars.

He's won exactly sweet FK all as one of the premier halves of the last decade.

He has a single premiership in 15 seasons, despite having a loaded roster for his first 4-5 years, plus a Dally M winner playing off him.

He's been a great clubman no doubt, but let's not pretend he hasn't also been a major part of the weakest era in our history.
