Api......re-signs.

Manly's spine strengthened with Api re-signing
Finally some good news for those poor, long-suffering Manly fans.
I’m hearing that classy hooker Apisai Koroisau has agreed to new terms with the Sea Eagles despite offers from several rival clubs.
Koroisau was in great form early in the season before a broken foot in June brought a premature end to his year.
But he remains one of the most dangerous hookers in the game out of dummy half and his decision to stick with the club will give Manly a huge boost.
With Koroisau at hooker, Daly Cherry-Evans at half and Turbo Tom at fullback, Manly will have a spine as good as any in the NRL in 2019.

Can I say this - I'm feeling some conspiracy theory coming on. Been thinking, as I have previously mentioned that Manly's appeal responses were sent back to NRL - got to be nearly 2 months ago, and we have heard nothing from the NRL; but we have heard stories or suggestions that

1. Talks off Centre of Excellence in next 4 - 6 weeks? Where is all the money coming from?
2. Players starting to re-sign new contracts- thank goodness for Api! Hear a couple of others will do as well, how do we afford this?
3. The NRL have allowed us to purchase a player or two
4. Media suggestions our fine will be reduced for next year?

Is the reason that we have not heard anything is it because there are secret negotiations being done between the club and the NRL, so the NRL can save face? I smell something fishy.

Maybe, but we still have no office furniture and the gym is a bit grimey, so we can forget finals footy
Fear not.
Scott's organised some guys to fix it up...

I know someone through work who is a life long Manly fan (as is his two brothers). Over the years we would chat about players coming and going, wins and losses, etc.

Last time I spoke with him he said he had lost interest in the club. He can't condone cheating, he could cop all the other dramas around the club, but that was a bridge too far. His partner has told me since that he hasn't watched a game all year (I know, that might be a positive).

I guess the point I'm trying to make is, there are a lot of disillusioned fans out there too busy with life to dig deep enough to realise this will probably end up just being "technical irregularities". Fans see Eels, Dogs, Manly as cheats. Sponsors are loudly announced then quietly drop off.

Maybe there will be a sweet press release where our penalty is reduced and NRL acknowledging that there are grey areas that they will take some responsibility for?

Too late, innocent, deliberately guilty, accidentally guilty, the damage has been done I'm afraid.

Agree we would not be anywhere near the spoon if API had stayed healthy.

Some on here have short memories or are living in denial .........

This is the team which included Api that was Thrashed by Parra to the tune of 44 points to 10 .
It was Parras first win and only win of the season as they humiliated the Trent Barrett coached team
This was Trents team
1 Tom Trbojevic, 2 Brad Parker, 3 Dylan Walker, 4 Brian Kelly, 5 Akuila Uate, 6 Lachlan Croker, 7 Daly Cherry-Evans (c), 8 Addin Fonua-Blake, 9 Apisai Koroisau, 10 Martin Taupau, 11 Joel Thompson, 12 Jack Gosiewski, 13 Jake Trbojevic

Interchange: 14 Matthew Wright, 15 Shaun Lane, 16 Lloyd Perrett, 17 Taniela Paseka

After this defeat in round 7 Trents team which included Api had played 7 games and only had 2 wins and were place 13th on the NRL Ladder

I really like joel as an addition to our club. He's the sort of character we need to help keep the young blokes honest. His "back's against the wall, everyones off us" fire up last week proves that he knows the manly siege culture and is gonna be a big part in instilling that in the coming years.

I was concerned as Api was probably the one player I feared will leave if Barrett walked out. I remember TB talking Api up when he first signed and brought him over from the Riff, and how grateful Api was for TB in beleiving in him. Thankfully Api is a smart man and realised how crap TB is as a coach and has decided to stay put. Hopefully now we might see an even better Api next year and beyond.
