I have never ever been more disgusted.

That Marty play the ball a metre out without standing up was the most stupid thing I have ever seen. Second tackle, a metre out, against 12 men and YOU DONT STAND UP AND PLAY THE BALL. Marty was asking for it, and he got it. See you next year idiot.

On top of that they opened the field to that FIjian fellow Sivo all night, and, consequently, he looked like scoring all night, and got three tries. Pathetic.

I have seen some clunkers over the years, but I think this is actually the dumbest most anti Manly game I have ever seen.

Agreed, and let’s not forget Sutton could’ve very very easily said “no try” for the messy Fainu four pointer. Forget about fixes and pre-ordained outcomes people, it’s a myth. We were our own worst enemies last night.

Over the years the refs that have really given us grief.

Kevin Roberts really hated us.
Harrigan took delight in crapping all over us after what Bozo said to him after a fiery match at Cronulla which he pretty much decided.
Horse head Maxwell, Sharks junior referee, nuff said!
Hayne and Cummings who ensured that we were never going to win the 13 grand final
Sutton for his ridiculous decision to allow Peachy a try for the Riff which cost us the game in the knock out final 2 years ago and the debacle of last night.
Perenara, ex Parra player who never misses in sinking in the slipper when he referees our games.
Checcin in his earlier days really savaged us, mellowed in recent times.

I agree Martin has been doingthat all year and I have been waiting for the penalty against us. It was however a 50 50 call and Sutton is a hometown ref. He's play the balls have become terrible. i dont understand how we can start so poorly again. Where is the attitude ?????

That one against Marty showed the refs mindset. He was in 'find a way to get parra out of trouble' mode. It wasn't a mistake/bad call, he knew what he was doing. And he's our 'number 1' ref........
That penalty was a perfect example of a ref being able to use discretionary penalties to shape a game

Yeh not usually a fan of a game turning moment, but that was it.
Manly done enough to give themselves a real shot at victory before that moment and for ppl claiming he did not get up to play it, he wasn't allow to as it was not dominant tackle and a must release situation....Kapow was up on 1 leg with the tackler simply hanging onto the other leg....but I do agree with others not JUST blaming that as to WHY Manly lost.
From the opening whistle the problems were also a poor start defensively, caught out by offloads (not locking up the ball), poor ball control and that opening 20 minutes looked like deer's in the headlights.
Then following that Marty incident, played like a team defeated which was punctuated by another ridiculous penalty against Fainu, for a tackle that even a crazed chemist specialist like Finch could see....
