Annesley's weakly "Why this happened" report - 2024 edition.

Wonder what lame bullsht this clown will come up with to excuse the Manly sin bins and the cretin's no sin bin last night. Fuking nrl is losing any credibility rapidly at the moment.
See Sharpe was dropped back to the women's game yesterday after her diabolical effort with last weeks bunnies game

So I read in the paper today that Abdo & annesley have had enough of the refs, now because of crichton not being binned

Do they not realise that because they blindly support the woeful reffing performances every week they are encouraging the refs to act the way they do

A bit like mitchell repeatedly misbehaving and getting away with it all the time.

Now once the horse has bolted they think ‘oh it’s not good enough’. Do they not understand that the rot usually starts from the top. It is their job to ensure the refs perform their roles, not just criticising anyone who questions their appalling performances

Had enough of the refs or the bunker or both?

The only way to save this game from the biased, diabolical and inconsistent officiating is for the head clown Anusley to be in the bunker every week for every game. That will not only spare everyone for having to listen to his political speeches every Monday but maybe bring some credibility back to the rules of the game. Every player, coach, broadcaster, fan and dare I say even the referees are confused. Get in the bunker Anusley and do your job!

I can't think of a more perfect foil for the NRL Manic Monday excuseathon than a failed politician.
However I think it could be improved.
By adding a laughter track.

I usually start off these threads with the 4 standard reasons annesley uses every week, being:

1 - The refs got it right
2 - The refs got it wrong
3 - The refs got it wrong but I'm sick of everyone bagging the refs week in and week out.
4 - The refs got it wrong but "players make mistakes tooooooo."

I reckon points 3 and 4 will get a work out this week.

I don’t think we will but I’d love to hear justification in bully’s sin bin and what they consider was wrong with haumole’s

I can cop Waddell, but if radley doesn’t cop the same grade it willl be a sham, very very similar.

I have watched the haumole one over and over again. My son is a Junior referee and got him to watch it and tell me what the sin bin was for. He said "shoulder charge, maybe, but he wouldn't even penalise that"

The penalty was bunker reviewed as "direct, forceful contact to the head" which I can't see anywhere, he lines him up and tackles him hard under the arm and wraps both arms, so still can't figure it out.

Duck was pretty hard done by getting two weeks for barely touching the bloke, all the damage was done when his head thrust forward accidentily into Tent's shoulder. IMO all 3 were not sin bin offenses and the game was ruined by that clown who was whistle happy

You might say Annesley's painting himself into a corner with no way out, he'll just have to own this train wreck of a display and take the early guilty plea and suspend himself for a week.

So...if the bunker reviews it as "direct, forceful contact to the head" why doesn't the independent doctor think the victim needs to come off for a HIA?

Became the bunker and officials are clowns and making it up as they go along to try and control the nrl narrative. That was all setup imo to provide us with the playoff for the spoon in the last round

He only got a fine, as you say, its a sham

I guess we really didn’t expect much else than a bunch of politico-waffle from Anne. Bottom line, an official made one judgement mistake, and everything else around sin bins and high tackles is hunky dory… just an isolated error.

Oh, and loved the whole narrative creation at the beginning to set a context. Put up a graph of all head highs mapped over the year, with a clear and significant spike over the last 4 weeks… but, get this for snake behaviour… basically said he didn’t know why there were so many more head highs [done by the players-implied] forcing the refs to rule on. Of course, it couldn’t be the officials looking for anything no matter how insignificant, nor officials actually making mistakes in their judgements… 🤦‍♂️😖🤬

And the Bully sin bin shouldn’t have even been a penalty. Would love someone to put a stop watch on that play the ball. It was lightning quick and offered no resistance in the ruck. This one was the worst of the lot in my opinion.
Absolute disgrace!
