If the players are not getting fined then there is no issue

Our club is no stranger to the seamier side of life. That hasn't stopped us having a strong culture and extremely high expectations on players to be responsible, sensible adults.

Its always amazes me that just because somebody is good at sport, people seem to think they have the right to say how their lives should be conducted off the park.

If the player is performing on the field, and not breaking any laws or causing big public disturbances off it, who gives a stuff what they do, or who they want to hang out with outside of footy

I haven't kept up with any of this latest Andrew Johns stuff, it isn't news over here and haven't taken the time to read it. The bloke has made a massive cock up in his life with the drug taking, but outside of that, has he really been up to much trouble ?

I'm sure the long term forum posters will remember the pics posted a long time ago by someone who saw Beaver out one night and he posed for a few pics with them, Beaver was absolutely smashed but nobody would ever call him a terrible influence or anything other than a professional

Never a truer word spoken. We can all have our favourites and all have our despised footy players but I cringe every time I hear idol or role model.

It seems to me many people (general public) these days cant manage their own lives or take responsibility for their own actions yet somehow hold higher expectations for people like sportsmen or media personalities.
