Aloiai thoughts

The Who

Journey Man
I'm interested to read fellow Silvertails' thoughts on Josh's performances this season.
I'll admit I'm a little underwhelmed. I thought because the club fought so hard to recruit him that I would be 'whelmed'.

I haven't been able to watch all the games properly. But from what I've seen I have been under whelmed too.
Mistake from the kickoff after a try is going to stand out like dogs balls . Hopefully will get a better impression this week now he has a few games under his belt.

Hard to judge as he started the season like the rest of team in horrible form. He got injured as we were starting to fire and out for 3 months.

He looks off the pace and that is to be expected and the untimely suspension against the Tigpies put him further behind.

We are really going to need him in the coming weeks with no Paseka and no Sipley this week. I think he will get better and better and the goal should be to have him at peak fitness for the finals.

He was very good quality until injured, well up the leaderboard in our MVP.
He's only had a couple of short stints since resuming and I'm confident will be good as he gets back to match fitness. We'll need him against the big Eels pack and he'll do the job.

Yes I'm hoping when he gets over his injuries and gets a good crack at it he'll show a bit more. Not saying he's been terrible or anything but you know. He may get his chance now depending on how long Taniela is out for. He is certainly one of the guys who still has a bit left in the tank for the finals.

Agree with the all the previous posts, against the scum his hit ups and metres were very ordinary, maybe the mins he played we didn't have much possesion but he needs to stand up against the slime, probably a starting prop as we'll be down on troops.

He always looks a bit suss with all the bandaging but don't judge a book by its cover.

It's hard coming back into a team that's humming along after you've had a long-term injury. Before he got hurt, he was starting to look like one of our best forwards. I even recall a few "AFB who?" posts popping up around these parts. We need to show a little patience.
Yep agree. I can remember in the Tigers game especially he was very prominent. Heavy tackles resulting in turnovers. He looks like an extra from “the mummy returns” with the amount of bandaging he has on his body.

One of our best until injured. His return has been underwhelming. Looks off the pace. Struggled early season with fitness for some time but went hard

Terrible game against the cheats but clearly still getting back to match fitness, the suspension last week obviously not helping at all. He was our best forward earlier in the season and will be fine in the coming weeks, we will need him to with Paseka and Sipley missing time.

Agree with other posters. I thought he was a great addition until he was out injured but since his return he has been off the pace. He needs a few more games to get back to where he was earlier in season after a long time out

He was good before he got injured, consistently one of, if not our best forward in most games. However, since he has come back, he is clearly short of match fitness, which has translated into poor defence and an inability to take repeated and effective hit-ups. The error against the Storm was a turning point in the game and cost us; however, the measly three runs would have been impacted by our tactics of spreading the ball.

He will improve as his fitness improves. I would expect to see a far more involved and defensively sound version of Mr garlic sauce by finals.

Early season form was close to the best Manly had, in some pretty ordinary performances
Looked strong and even a bit intimidating....but the effort against Storm was very poor and not sure if it is down to still needing match fitness or simply could not step up to the rise in class...certainly erred at critical times and lacked the impact he was expected to bring
The next 2-3 weeks will reveal where he fits in and needs to show far more if wants a top 17 spot

Actually thought he was are best forward in our first four losses of the season.
