Greenturd forced Manly to play 2 players short last season. 😡
So it must be the same for 2018 as well :swear:

Weirdlet said on 9 news that no club has put a financial offer to Pearce so sounds like Greenturd has already knocked our offer before we have even made it......

Find that hard to believe, as if no club would have offered him anything yet

How to create a sports story out of just about nothing 101.

- Find a topic loosely linked to reality, i.e. A player has been released from his contract
- Once per day take to twitter to make a wildly speculative comment on it
- Reply with other vague responses
- Daily talk about or publish an article based on possible scenarios whether they are grounded in fact or not
- ???
- Profit

Mate, I grew up in the western suburbs in a one income family of 8. My father was low paid, blue collar. Never went on holidays, had to basically pay my own way from age 16, including paying my own way through uni. So don't feed me that bull**** lefty line about privilege. I stand by my view that the best societal form is the one where people are encouraged and incentivised to do the best they can in life, rather than envy those who have achieved and expect others to do the heavy lifting for them. Clearly there needs to be appropriate safety nets for those who are truly disadvantaged, but we are creating a society where increasingly people expect the government to support them from cradle to grave. That system has never worked.

Firstly Terry, I am not beholden to any political philosophy and resent your comment "so dont feed me that **** lefty line about privilege'. If you had bothered to absorb what I was saying, I said you were obviously intelligent and talented. I made no comment about your upbringing whatsoever. Further as a 67 year old I'm not one to blindly follow a particular line, such as the left side of politics. In fact I was well known for arguing against politics being involved in certain elements of my employment. My position on things is purely based on my experiences. Some of my attitudes could be considered left others right. For example I agree that people shouldn't be just receiving hand outs and have maintained for years that if someone is unemployed for several months they should be required to work for a government project (and there are many that should be happening) on full pay. I also worked all my life from a family that had to watch the pennies, grew their own veggies, had chickens etc...one pair of shoes, one change of clothing for school. But then everyone in the 50s was like that and there was a better sense of community back then because everyone was in the same boat

My position Terry, based on experience in a very wide range of areas, aims for the overall common good and that means seeking as much equity as possible. By the way learn the meaning of ologies when you use them. A socialist society does not have free markets. I certainly wouldnt support that. It is all state controlled. Cant think of any West European country like that. What I'm suggesting is tight controls on the capitalist trends lest monopolisation occurs, and freedoms are lost.

Got to admit I'm perplexed, some of you say well that fits.... so be it.
This is what I know to be true;
1, Manly had a letter/contract of intent signed and registered with NRL, this was withdrawn on Thursday by his manager as other clubs had vented a higher financial interest to which Manly offered
2. After such, Pearce has had further meetings with Manly, Cronulla (yesterday) and Newcastle today, despite being offered $1.2 mil a season for 2 years at Newcastle, and whilst I had lunch with their sponsorship person at supercars today (and YES it was an awesome day)!, I did ask about Pearce and was told he was a $1mil to one he was going there and they expect him to sign with Manly - they didn't know I was a Manly man.

Hope your right Supreme Leader. It would be a top class back line.

I've said this a few times mate.

I can't work it out.

All other clubs are heavily recruiting.

I agree we have some great marquee players.

But that would mean all of them got a 300k-500k increase this year.

Thanks not got salary cap management.

Managers and sports journo’s, my favourite people........NOT!

my concern is how much more does he want for himself versus team balance? and winning a comp?

If it’s money only we won’t win this one.

If it’s wanting to join a team on the rise , with a chance of another GF ring in say 2 maybe 3 years then we will.

Only time will tell BUT the longer it goes the less I think he’s coming, because if we’d already won they’d have announced it today.
