All NRL Games [Round 18, 2025]

This comp is wide open, Storm seem to be the shaky favourites atm, with their nemesis the Riff in hot pursuit. All aboard the rollacoster folks, it's going to be a wild ride.

Agree. Massive choke by the dogs. Curran was terrible. They pulled him, and his replacment dropped it first touch. Referee made some strange decisions favouring them also. How did they get that scrumfeed just before their first try. Kickow knocked it on for sure. That ginger ref's a Muppet.
Pass was touched by the broncos, but the fox commentators missed it

Galvin’s game last night just reminded me of how I’ve always thought of DCE tbh. Pushing passes, trying to score off every play, no composure even with a big lead. That style of play can look good occasionally, but it just doesn’t translate to winning games consistently.

We will be significantly better with Fogarty next year

Agree 100%.

I feel bad for Sexton, his style is working so well for the dogs, but Galvin is the "superstar".

I am looking forward to us getting Fogarty. A disciplined half could really unlock our team's potential.

We have Seidud , Bulldogs have Ciraldud

How did they lose that ??

As I said in the thread earlier I felt they slackened right off just before half time. Come back in cruise control mode trying to protect a lead.

It was only ever a matter of the Donks scoring a try and trouble would set in.

A spine of Tracey, Galvin, Sexton and Mahoney is almost as bad as ours. They can't help when momentum swings.

And as we know very well , momentum in this game is a very big factor , when a side gets on a roll & starts getting penalties / 6 agains they are almost impossible to stop

Maybe I might have to back the Eagle for the remainder of the season
That second half performance has shown nothing to me, putrid!

He requires a strong halves partner to help take the pressure off him, a person who can guide the team around the park whilst he can conjure up some "special plays".

Some of his pass selection(s) and the timing of those during passages of tonight's game, left a lot to be desired.
Nothing would please me more than to see Dogs begin to unravel and Galvin relegated to reserve grade (take it as a compliment @TJ55 ) but...

Did he have a strong halves partner at Tigers last year when he starred for them? the mistimed passes are probably down to subtle changes in how Dogs play v the team he's been with until now.

But either way, Sexton and Mahoney pushed aside for Wonderboy ... yes yes, destabilise please!

Ciraldo has become something of an instant supercoach, always looks so smug and all-knowing (bit like Seibold after his coach-of-the-year season?) so the mean side of me (probably my best side!) would love to see Dogs season fizzle and Ciraldo squirm at post game pressers @:D

I wouldnt put Ciraldo in the same basket as Seibold in terms of attitude and pressing conferences, i think Ciro is pretty humble and straight up, never seen him make any excuses compared to other coaches but thats juat my opinion.

Galvin was doing the same thing at the Tigers this season. He’s been reading his own press and you can feel the weight of expectation of him every time his touches the ball. With the high profile transfer and big dollars, comes the spotlight. He’s a kid and those lights are blinding right now.

He's got a lot of strings to his bow, including great fitness, so he's not going to be a dud. But will he match early expectations? Some will remember Phil Blake who burst on the scene like a bolt of lightning, had a very good career but never dominated or even represented, I think? It happens

Agree, and said similar in the NRL thread yesterday. It's crazy at just 24 Sexton's being palmed off to the Catalans for a 'superstar' who is not being one at the moment, and it has destabilised the Dogs.

My poor choice of words in terms of a "strong halves partner", I should have said a more direct, controlled halves partner, whereby he was afforded the time to find gaps, take on the line and more often than not, see beyond the ruck and defensive line, to play and push forward bringing his outside backs into play.

He played like this at Westfield's Sports High and [he] carried this into the Tiger's system.

Given that he is reunited with Luke Vella, it will be interesting to see if he can combine the style that carried him so well into Ciraldo's system and yes, whilst it might be early stages, he is being tasked with an opportunity predicated upon his ability and to that end, expectations are high; as the season progresses, people will not be as forgiving as they are at present.
