Agree. Not sure if its the bulk that he has put on (he is huge) but he didnt appear overly quick.

Jamie is a good professional player who should see plenty of first grade over the next few years. His kicking is good. If Chad Townsend can be a premiership winning halfback then who knows, maybe Jamie can too.
But I suspect he's more likely to become a specialist 14. Tough and has some skills but not really better on his feet than Arthur from the bits I've seen.

That’s a fair assessment, though he reminds me more of Trent Hodkinson for the below reasons,
He has game management and composure, ability to direct play and orchestrate attacking movements is complemented by a reliable kicking game, which often positions his team favourably on the field.
While not the flashiest player, his strength looks to be in his tactical awareness and defensive capabilities.
Hodko was actually a very high skill player who didn't reach his full potential due to injuries early on that dulled his speed. Despite that he was still good enough to play SOO.
Jamie's only 23 and with 2 NRL games under his belt now, still should have some improvement in him.
Its only 1 round but to me they look like big improvers next season. Some pretty good young players on the rise. Wont be spooners this season unless there is a benji melt down IMO

Nah,just see what I see,listening to John's say how great he is etc....is why I said he was nothing special.
I have seen him play a fair bit and he is solid at best at half and hooker.
Controlled can also be a word to suggest he is average.
It is fine to say we could have kept him etc....but that suggests he would be prepared to stay as a backup when he could get a shot at a starter elsewhere,we don't have a lot of room and spending money on a backup half/hooker was not a priority....

Have to say I'm sick of the Bulldogs buying every quality forward who comes on the market while we, um, do not. Surely their "war chest" must be empty by now.
