I agree, it's about the coaching thing. A coach pinpoints the weaknesses in a team and solves those. Weaknesses that I continually saw throughout the season were Matai's continual defensive weaknesses and his reluctance to pass to supports. Dunley's stupid penalties. Lack of support for little 5/8 guy in defense and his tackling style. Body strength of our props, weird skinny leg development (barring Kite and BK) and drop of intensity at the end of the season. We finished fifth, could have been outright third if a couple of games hadn't been THROWN away (Canberra and Cronulla spring to mind). My solution: give Roach the punt and give Des two more seasons to get up to the GF. If not punt. Is he to close to the players to deliver? As we're not players, a bit difficult to know, maybe yes , maybe no. Has he the smarts? Questionable. I think we'll do OK in 07, but be there in 08. If not, by by des. I guess then Toovs will get the gig.
