I reckon Hastings is definately better than Hodkinson at current, absolutely. Although reckon that seeing we can't use the money anywhere else at the moment with few options left in the market then why not get another option in hodko, so if hastings isn't up for it, and the others are proven not ready, than he can have his lifeline or he can battle it out in the pre season to try book a starting spot.

If he fails, or makes the side and performs badly/he is shown to truly be destroyed by injury, than we have plenty of options other than him. I just feel that relying on Hastings to succeed is a real risk, and that we may need to have some players with experience (and i suppose you could apply the term potential, for if he returns to form and fitness)

Cheap one year deal I say, or bank on Hastings and target a star forward such as Chrichton (who seems to be at long odds though)
