5 U20's players chosen in NZ U18's trials

Kioa,Weatherall,Titmuss,Smalley and Tepu-Smith have been chosen to play in a trial match leading to selection in the jr. Kiwis side.3 are playing this weekend for us and can't play though.Good on the young guys for impressing,although Kioa,Weatherall and Tepu-Smith are late pickups from other Ball squads after seasons end.Looks like other people rate them highly too.....

I really rate Smalley, he's like a faster version of Taufua but more aggressive, the commentator last Saturday mentioned he's the youngest in the team but the strongest ball runner.

We just need to manufacture a team for the next 2 years when these guys are ready. What is a huge plus for Manly that they (the club) have committed a massive amount of $'s to secure long term the younger "potential star" players in NYC. They are happy to have a hit in NRL to secure a long term club success. Foresight?

Guess the question is - is their egos prepared to wait for their moment?

Again, I hope the future salary cap will allow us to keep these ego's?

Hey Smokin Joe, don't get sucked in mate. I've seen quite a few ratings given to posts that have absolutely no connection to what has been said. Because I don't get a chance to see the youngsters play, I always find your posts about the up and coming eagles extremely interesting and informative. Perhaps @Eric Galt has big fingers and was being optimistic in hitting the informative rating.. Anyway appreciate your posts.

Agree with spartan. It's usually what we call "fat finger syndrome" (minds outta the gutter people!) and sometimes the poster will change it....sometimes they wont. (bad karma)

This thread is actually the backbone of Manly’s next 5-10 years....
There will be 4-5 Astute signings to go with this already building team of 2017, but it’s some of these young local talents who will be relied on to “Step up” and become key members in coming years....Top thread Smokin Joe !!

I'm a big fan of Titmus I think he has the size and aggression needed. Smalley and Kioa are great at this level with their strength although I'm not sure in the modern day game how their limited height would work for them going forward.

What f***ing ironstein decided to put the PMs 13 vs PNG and a junior kiwi trial game this weekend in the middle of finals. Especially with Qcup PNG Hunters playing in the GF. It reeks of a Greenturd involvement.
