Possibly the josh Aioli impending yet to be ratified by NRL retirement may have something to do with it, freeing up the coin to announce bigger fish

I thought he was English. And he is - kinda. Was born there, but his dad is former Shark Mitch Healey. Good young player regardless. Be very happy to have him in our system.

If they could grab AFB on “compassionate” grounds because he “wanted to go home” (lol), surely we can get it someone in the other direction for a similarly vague reason?

Same reason any club does. .. because they think there are other areas they'd prefer to strengthen

Warriors currently have Luke Metcalf on a bargain deal of $550k. They want to extend him & have already offered a new deal worth over $1 million. A back up hooker is probably a reasonable player to move on if he is on decent money

As I said ages ago , our likely gets are going to be players who are behind 1 or more other players , may well be talented but unlikely to play much first grade.

This is a great example.

I like this direction. it's served clubs like the roosters and Melbourne well over the years. Poach good young players, get them in your system early and turn over the ones that don't work out. Meanwhile you have all these blokes playing and getting better together.

Makes you wonder if it's all worthwhile, developing your own junior talent only to see them move on to union or another club. Far easier and probably cheaper to poach the up and coming junior talent from other clubs tbh.
