2026 recruitment & retention

Has played first grade at hooker half and 5/8 so as utility backup probably better than Wakeham?
Played under Seibold at Brisbane a few years ago.
We're losing Jazz and possibly also Gordie and Croker so definitely need more dummy half options
Yes he does play hooker, half and 5/8,but not very well. Not sure the significance of playing under Seibold has given it was during the spoon year and the fact Seibold won’t be there. Also when a player comes to Manly as a back up,they inevitably become regular first graders

Corey Paix would be better than Turpin. On the Bulldogs website, the write up for Turpin’s player profile says he is ‘reliable’. That’s a term used when you can’t think of anything nice to say but you need to keep things positive.

Until we lose Tom, Jake, DCE, Josh O, and Saab, we will continue to recruit more average players. It's hard to believe we cannot sign anyone good for 2026!!! Those five are nearly 4.5 million on our cap and be honest, are they superstars anymore? Do they get us win after win anymore?

Not saying that it is a good signing or one I agree with.....
He has been coming off the bench in his couple of NRL games as a mobile lock forward in the Hayward/Mann role that Ciraldo uses.
He might be more of a Tevaga replacement than anything..
Probably be 2027 before we have some serious money to spend(as the club has mentioned before).
Wilson is actually a decent player, but not one I would have thought necessary unless we are shedding one or two.

General consensus is that we need a Prop (or two) and a Lock. We are reported to be signing a winger and a utility. I don't mind Wilson as a player but not sure if that is where we need more depth particularly with Faulolo resigning although there were reports Ray V is not being resigned.

Blake Wilson has quite a bit going for him , good finisher and broken field runner
Probably can easily be accommodated cap wise if the likes of Schoupp and Ray Ray are not retained but still have a bit of time for Ray Ray with his block busting style of play
Think that Turpin played a bit in the half 's previously and now more in a 9 , 13 or general utility role
Hardly the most inspiring type signing if it is being seriously considered but if the likes of Froggy , Jazz [ definitely of course ] and Gordy are not on the scene next season , maybe not the worst replacement out there

We should be able to afford three times as expensive in a position that needs attention. If the Dogs are chasing Tino as suggested and we can’t afford Corey Paix, someone has seriously dropped the salary cap ball at Manly.
Totally dropped.
Losing DCE is the 1st step in rectifying that. The Jurbo/Turbo deal is the other dropped ball and someone's trying to pick that up, not sure if we can in time for this off-season though.

Wow. We really are a recruitment force, aren't we!
Well let’s face it , if you were a young gun would you join us ??

You might if we paid $350k a year more than you were offered elsewhere, and therin lies the problem.

Not only do we have **** all 3rd party deals we have to pay double for any decent player , meaning we simply can’t afford them.
