2026 recruitment & retention

I don’t mind this, if we’re thinking 13 or bench rotation, he plays with the same passion as his old man. If we’re thinking his a solution as a starting prop, I don’t know about that, it wasn’t a success in a lot stronger outfit, his only around a 100kg, obviously his been considered as the replacement for Jazz, hopefully he’ll be our starting 13. Broncos tried to shop him last year, overall I think it would be a value add for our club, his only 26, which is a big step forward for our recruitment team.

No thanks to either of them. There's a reason why two coaches don't rate Kobe and Jack hasn't done much at the Knights either
This just isn’t true, there was multiple clubs after Kobe in the off season but Madge decided to block his release request because he does rate him. Hasn’t worked out well this year for whatever reason but he’s still only 26 a lot better bench option then Brown

So if accurate, more like ; [ if hasn "t already been mentioned ] Kobe for Jazz.
Wouldn "t seem in the upgrade category [ as both genuine competitors ] and slightly different styles , so more like a status quo outcome if again the reports are correct .
Probably will see Simpkin more in the preferred starting 9 role for next season then unless some other capable 9 comes on the scene .
Just could not see Froggy being regarded as a definite starter next season unless his injury situation and form can improve for the better

Kobe would give us good speed at 13 .Probably a bit fast and bigger than Jazz in that 13 posi ,as well could play on an edge so that would be a win tbh ,and hopefully not likely to break the bank.
Would lead to Jake into FR rotation .
As for Jack Hetherington he will be 30 next year so not in elderly category of FR ,and again you would think not break the bank but could provide good value at FR and SR if he could learn not to be an over the top hothead ,just a measured one i.e. a little left of centre of someone like JWH (not putting him in the same class as JWH)
Along with Paul Bryan who showed alot of guts in the clip someone posted starts a much needed rebuild of the pack.
Would still like to see us get a Nofa Wyhte type or or someone like the young Rorters No10 who did a Kaylyn Ponger like goose step a few weeks ago to score against the Raiders ?
Anyways go Manly

Re Simpkin ,before we started loosing all our Props and while Croker was out Simpkin barring maybe one game had the forwards running onto the ball and hitting the line with momentum and we were winning in that area
It was clear to see ,so yes I would hope he would be starting 9 going forward except for us getting someone better(Mahoney, Rylie ? the parra 9 etc ) or someone better stepping up.
I really feel that losing both Paseka and on again off again Aloai along with DCE s declaration, more than anything else has really hurt us this year

Kobe sounds like a decent signing if true, hasn't been great this year tbh but would stand out a lot more in our pack of aging plodders than in Brisbane's gun pack. Feels like someone where a change of scenery would only do him some good. Definitely the better option of the Hetherington's as Jack is essentially an older version of Keppie.

A few more guys in that mould of being a bit younger, mobile and can get through work without completely gassing out would really help us IMO.

Actually, wouldn't mind a firebrand like Jack Hetherington. We could tone his aggression down a notch to not give away stupid penalties. He'd be a mid range buy you would think, could be a real value pick up for us.
He's tough and looks fit but the only times I've seen him play he looks slow and cannot bend the line!
Surely minimum wage emergency use only. (Bit like Chee Kam this year)

His better than that, the donkeys were using him up front last year and his just to light, start of this year they swapped Carrigan and Kobe and they looked really good for a few weeks. I don’t think Carrigan enjoyed the swap overly and why would he, recall him commenting on how physically hard it was, but I’m sure Kobe enjoyed it, he could be good for us if he plays that 3rd middle role, going to have to wait and see what happens with Jake.

Sorry I meant Jack
I think Kobe is good

Kobe is far more rugged defender than Bull, though not really explosive with the ball. He would improve the balance in our squad if we get him.

(but gawd I hope if we get a Hetherington it isn't the other one)
Agree with all your above sentiments.

I'm not even sure if Locks Kobe's best spot, he's a funny one position wise. But, mobile and gritty. I reckon we can make it work, and hed be a good fit for us.
